Disabling ratings

Sun Aug 02, 2009 3:48 pm
Greets everybody. Don't know if it wasn't  already mentioned, but I'd like to propose an option of complete ratings disabling in future versions of Amarok (just like in ver. 1.4). As I'm personally not convinced by a machine trying to calculate just how much I prefer one song to the other, and generally I'm not keen on grading each song with some ridiculous symbols, I do hope that in future versions this issue will be fully configurable. All in all - keep up the good work! Cheers!

Do you mean ratings (calculated on playcount) or score (the stars)?
Generally disabling the grading or hide it in the layout?
The only way to see the stars is in the Current Track applet (which I don't use, because I get all info in the topbar) or in the (configurable) playlist layout.

Well, I was thinking about the Current Track applet with that fancy cover view and the track title. Actually you're right it is the only place where scores and playcount is visible, but what if I want to see the playcount but not scores/ratings? :)

Yeah, the devs are able to build an app, that fits everybody. C'mon this is a bit fussy now.
Btw. you can edit your postings. No need to write every sentence in its own post.
Sorting by bitrate or color of the cover will be possible in 2.2
