That extra click when accessing volume is annoying. I think lot of people changes volume level quite frequently so i think it should be like the "volume bar" in main toolbar or at least an option to make it so
Otherwise congrats! Amarok 2.2 is going to be pretty much perfect! |

What extra click are you talking about? I run Amarok 2.2-git from a few hours ago and I have never seen any extra click or such
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Main toolbar ng (that new optional and thinner main toolbar) has volume icon which you must press before you can change volume level. Should be like in the deafault main toolbar. There's more than enough space for something similiar ---> no extra annoying cliks just drag the volume level like in the default main toolbar.

Wow, amazing!
I even didn't know about main toolbar NG till now. And yes, voulem bar could be squeezed inside it instead of an icon. |

There are a lot of improvement on the latest 2.2 development branch compared to 2.1.1 as can be seen on the Project Neon nightly build for Ubuntu (Build Date: Aug 26 2009).
I second on the "Main Toolbar NG". I do prefer the NG compared with the large Main Toolbar on the 2.1.1 but the volume slider requires extra click to open. It would be nice if the volume slider would just pop-up when the mouse hover or above the speaker icon. Is there a plan for the NG Maint Toolbar to be movable where user can do a custom layout like putting it at the bottom instead on top? |

For me it already is movable in the latest git builds. As with moving everything else in the new interface you just need to uncheck "Lock layout" under "Configure Amarok". I've had my NG Tooldbar sitting at the bottom of the interface since I started using it. The only thing that could still make it better would be a normal volume manager rather than the click icon. |

Personally I miss the volume slider from Amarok 1.4.x. Would look pretty good in Main Toolbar NG methinks.

I've noticed that it is already possible to manipulate the volume control on the NG Main Tool Bar via the mouse scroll-wheel on the Amarok 2.2 beta1 without extra mouse click.
Regarding the custom layout, I am aware of the "Lock layout" but it is not obvious for the toolbar that it can be dragged. I've only learned how to do it from another thread on this forum regarding the dragging handle. |

I figured out the mouse-wheel to control the volume a version or two ago, but what is the toolbar which can be dragged? I've unlocked the layout, but see no way to drag, and have tried it pretty much any way I can think of. There are a few lil buttons with no tooltips, but I'm reluctant to click them lest I screw something up. Tooltips on *everything*, please! I find the lack of them in much of the new plasma stuff in KDE to be beyond annoying. Valorie |

Exactly. But we sometimes simply forget about them. So if you notice any missing ones, _please_ send us a bug report about it (with the exact locations). This is FOSS, the users can help too
