Apologies if I'm coming in to this from a position of naivety/ignorance, but I have just figured out the UI for dynamic playlists for the first time, and I have some suggestions.
Here's the part that I have a problem with: My principle issue is that the playlist name is not given enough emphasis. Also lacking emphasis is the fact that multiple playlists can be created, saved and remain available for future retrieval. The principle problem is that a listbox has been used for the playlist name. I'd suggest something more prominent, such as the type of listing in the "Internet" tab. The contents of the dynamic playlist (ie, its "rules") currently do not appear to belong hierarchically to the playlist. The "On" checkbox and "Repopulate" button take up two rows when they should only take one, and they need to be separated somehow from the list of playlists, or alternatively brought clearly within the hierarchical bounds of each playlist. Hope this makes sense. The actual functionality of dynamic playlists is great, but it's not as clear as it could be as to how to access it. |

The layout and function of the Dynamic Playlist has changed quite a bit since Amarok 2.1.1, you should have a look at Amarok 2.2-git and the various developer blogs here: http://amarok.kde.org/planet
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
