I've noticed one interesting thing.
The screenshots of new amarok versions (from here) have resolutions: 1 400px × 853px 1 237px × 870px 1 126px × 874px It's too large for a media player, for example think about poor owners of netbooks In old amarok versions I could improve the situation, there was the sidebar, which allowed me an easy access to many features (files, playlists, etc). Like this (just one click and you can on/off a panel): Even if I'm not an owner of small resolution display, I don't want to expand a media player for a full screen. Sorry but it's not an only application on my desktop Do you plan to add shortcuts to switch on/off an amarok panels? And other optimizations for used space on a desktop?

1) Go to "View" menu and unselect "Lock Layout"
2) remove, resize, stack and mold all the parts of Amarok as you see fit. 3) Profit! |

It's not exatly what I mean.
My typical operation for example: 1. clear amarok playlist 2. the one click to the sidebar and I can drug a music directory to playlist 3. next click and I have playlist-only main window again Tabs it's a good idea for everything. Like "Everything is better with Bluetooth" (с)

well, by dropping panels on top of each other, you can do, for instance:
Except that you cannot drag and drop to the playlist, but has to double click or use the context menu to add stuff to the playlist. |

Shouldn't one be able to drag items to the Playlist tab to activate focus it? This would be consistent with Dolphin's tab behavior. |

First, you have to have your layout unlocked. View menu > Unlock layout. Then click the little diamond on the top right of each panel, which will unhook it from the standard layout. Then drag it on top of one of the others. Repeat until you are happy! You'll notice a little X next to the diamond. The X hides that panel from view, until you re-enable it from the View menu. If you hide all three panels, you're left with just the slim little top toolbar. Explore your music, Valorie |

I have a simple idea for Amarok interface:
It's compact & really ergonomic. Configure searching parameters from context menu on search field. |
