One request:

Being able to bookmark folders.
I always used Amarok instead of other players because I could drag files to the playlist without opening a file manager in a seperate window.

address could look like:
amarok://navigate/files/home/user/somep ... /etc/derp/

Please.

Ok, maybe another request on lower priority:
Don't mix folders with files in the view. Folders first, files later.

Your requests will get lost here in the thread. Please make a separate post with your request, or file a wish in the bugs.kde.org system.

Thanks!

PS: Do you mean that you can't successfully drag files or folders from Konqueror or Dolphin directly to the playlist? I just tried from Konq with success. You should be able to open music files from the right-click menu in your file browser also.

This is already implemented in Git Master :)

Just wait for 2.3.1.

The new file browser now doesn't differentiate between files and folders, all the entries are sorted only by name. This is really confusing, is it a bug, a feature or a configuration option I can't find?

This is not true in 2.3-GIT. Files have their own icons, depending on filetype, while directories are shown as folders. Can you show us a screenshot of what you are seeing, along with your distro, Amarok version etc.?

I think what Sverik means is not the icons, but the fact that the sorting is alphabetical, not sorted by folders first, files after as we see it in Dolphin. This is still so in Amarok 2.3-git, build of a few minutes ago.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

That's right, sorting is alphabetical only. I'd expect it to be type (file or directory) first and then alphabetical.

I created bug 237509 for this file/directory sorting issue.

Hm, AFAIK there is already an older report for it, did you check for duplicates?

I checked but didn't find them, fortunately someone did mark it as a duplicate. The bug itself is now fixed.
