Why is there no such an obvious feature as dynamic playlist generation by date added?
I always want to listen to songs that have been added to the library recently, but mixing them with a bit of old songs as well. There is no way for this to be done now. I think it would be extremely popular and useful feature. |

Use proportional bias > added > larger than (some value), or maybe a weak fuzzy bias for the last time you added music.

That's the problem. There is no "added" in proportional bias.

How about the Automatic Playlist Generator?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yes, automatic generator has the "added" constraint.
However, I don't like fixed length playlists as I need music playing all day long and generating 12 hours of songs takes time. Another issue is that as I understand constraints in automatic playlist generator work like "songs that were added around 7 days ago". What I need is "MOSTLY songs that were added less than 7 days ago, and SOME songs that were added any time". I.e. I need an "added" in dynamic playlists. |

Wow. That's strange.
I have Version 2.3.2 Using KDE 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1) Any suggestions how I can have this option too? |

Did you really scroll down far enough? It is way down the list, the items are not in alphabetical order unfortunately.

First played, last played, comment, file name are the last entries. Anyway, I'm 100% sure, that "added" is not on that list.

I see it differently:
I also don't have the icons |

Hm, I checked the code, this was added on September 19th, so after tagging of 2.3.2 apparently. It will be in Amarok 2.4.
Sentynel: you are using git I presume, so do I, that's why we have it.

Oh, yes, right you are, I hadn't spotted that change in the git logs. (The summary "New MetaQueryWidget allowing to select a meta query." didn't entirely jump out at me.) |

Amarok 2.4 is more stable for sure. But this feature does not work properly unfortunately. When I create a dynamic playlist using the "added to collection" filter, it includes some recently added tracks (added before upgrade to 2.4) but completely ignores new tracks that I add after the upgrade. And I waited so long for it...
I add tracks using the Move to collection dialog. |

Evll, if you have "watch folders for changes" unchecked, then you'll have to update your collection with the menu: Tools > Update Collection. If you continue to have problems after doing that, you might want to do a complete scan from Settings > Configure Amarok > Collection: Full Rescan.
