Advanced Sorting Options

Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:24 pm
Apologies if these are beginer user error, but here's two things I think would really help. If these are already possible, any explanation and/or links would be amazing. (Came up blank on searches, but that may be poor word choice).

1) Is there anyway to have some sort of 'Category' or 'Custom' sorting option? For example, say I would like to create two 'Categories' one called 'Happy/Upbeat' the other called 'Reggae.' Now, I would ideally like to be able to place something like Bob Marley in both, however the reggae folder would probably be filled with more stuff like Toots & the Maytals while the Happy/Upbeat may have more Rush etc. I'm not necessarily looking for a playlist setting with this, but a way to view all my options for either category.

2) Is there anyway to create multiple collections from a library in one location? E.g. I have one collection that includes everything--audiobooks, podcasts, Christmas music, etc. etc. I then have another collection/library that only contains my day to day listening.

Thanks for any help/thoughts--this player seems to be really amazing thus far.

I think you want to use labels for this.

This is what playlists or labels are for.

Thanks so much--that's exactly it. Labels are perfect.

I'm going to try to refrain from asking anymore questions until after I've had my coffee.
