Back in my windows daze, i used foobar.
With the particular 'skin' i was using it was possible to display detailed track/file info (bitrate, codec, date created/modified etc.) within the main gui, a feature i found very useful. Try as i might, i can't seem to do the same with amarok, except by selecting 'edit track details' from the context menu, i.e. not on the main panes. Ideally i'd like to display all this info in the 'context' pane, possibly on the 'current' tab. thanks |

You can personalize the playlist layout almost endlessly, including all the information you have room for on your screen, really. And if you unlock the layout, you can then stack/tab the panes as you like, to give the playlist more room on your display, if necessary. See http://userbase.kde.org/Amarok/Manual/R ... e/Playlist for more details.
