Here is a possible standardised Logo that theobroma came up with for Amarok Live.
![]() Version1 ![]() Version2 ![]() Final version Besides the obvious differences a gradient was created using the Oxygen Icons Color palette. Any body interested in playing with the Live Logo in inkscape can grab the Oxygen color palette swatch and follow the directions here http://kde-artists.org/Oxygen-palette

I like it. The splash of red is kinda cool. My only reservation is with the version number, it probably makes sense to have one with and without, so if something happens we don't have to throw it away, like we had to do for the 1.3.

Yes we have this in .svg format so we are able to update it with the various version names and numbers.

Was it ever decided if the logo should be updated to reflect the name change from "amaroK" to "Amarok"?
Apart from that, nice! The blue is... more attractive somehow.

That's a good point. I know it never entered into my thought process. One could make the argument now that the logo is a stylized representation of the name, so it doesn't matter, and as it stands now it almost looks all lower case, but we probably should try it and see what it looks like.

I have some critique for the new logo, if you allow me to say so:
1) The font saying "fast forward 1.4" is not very readable. It looks thin and somehow does not seem to fit very well with the style. 2) Regarding the "LIVE CD" text, I think the shade of red could be improved. My first impression was "this looks a little odd". First impressions are often valuable, I have learned. Overall you did great work on the logo, but perhaps with a little tweaking it could be even better!

Thank you for your input keep it coming. If anyone is interested in working on this you can grab the Oxygen color palette here http://kde-artists.org/Oxygen-palette and offer up some other colors we might try.
Thank you

Is that the darker red in the oxygen palette that you used on that. I kind of like it, it seems to pop out, which is perhaps what Mark doesn't like about it. It actually gives the illusion that it is wider than the lines above and below. |

I think the new version is an improvement, thanks.

Why yes it is, #9c0f0f to be exact. ![]() There are a couple of other reds that ended up kind of overpowering the Logo rather than making it pop. IMO. I like both of the versions myself from the perspective of accomplishing the exact opposite of one another. This is what I like about the idea of standardizing some of the artwork elements. A simple color change goes along way to communicating a change with very little effort. ![]() |
