Hi everyone,
Quick note to say that the bug on the new version (Windows 7) are even more numerous, on my computer . Actually it's really very very experimental . And still the problem of duplicate layer. Another question: Why the user is required to install the "pack Callibra" and not only Krita? thank you see you soon |

Currently the installer can only install the whole suite. It's planned to have separate installers in the future, but that still work in progress.

Yes, I haven't been able to fix the duplicate layer issue -- it's really weird. But I'm surprised to hear that you have found more bugs with the release candidate than with the previous beta -- could you post them here?

Hi everyone,
I have just installed the new 6th beta on Windows 7 (home edition) - 64 bit In my view, this new build (the 6th) is much more stable than the previous one I have tried to reproduce all my previous reported crash to no avail At present, I do get some crash with this version but I have never able to reproduce them For instance, Krita 2.4 beta 6 on Windows 7 crashed when: 1. I merged down a layer; 2. I moved a layer. As explained, I have never been able to reproduce them later. Sometimes, the Gui freeze with selections. It is not possible to use any tool after this freezes. Unfortunately, after restarting Krita I can not reproduce this freeze either The only little "problem" I can always reproduce occurs with PSD files. They are imported fine but their layers are not visible (their "eye" icon is not activated). In short, I am forced to activate every layer (one by one) and this is very time-consuming Just for example, here you can download one Psd file which has this problem: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3095134/snowman.zip This same Psd file is imported fine with Gimp 2.7.6 on Windows (all layers are visible) Naturally, I can open a bug-report about this PSD glitch Silvio Grosso |

Hi friends
Thank you for the answers. Then there are other little things that are malfunctioning: - The rotation of the canvas is always "risky" (how do we return to the original position?) - You can not move the canvas (space) with the tool "selection rectangle and round". - Krita do not take all the brush strokes when they are too fast or too many. - Anecdotal: Crash when closing the panels "About-krita" . Kargall. |

* For returning to the original position, activate the pan tool, press shift and click in the grey circle. * the issue with the panning and some tools is known; we need to do a lot of work to fix that for all tools, but Dmitry wants to work on that for 2.5 * missing brush strokes are worrying... I haven't had those, but then my computer is really, really fast. |

After making selection with lasso tool and try to move the selection tool, it works fine, but when I try to move the selection with the move layer, it crash.
The panning issue is a most to be fixed, is so essential. The rotation is really slow. I know this must be in another place but in linux (mint 11), I did the update, and test the MyPaint brushes with and without opengl, they are really slow, every single one of them. Thanks for all your work guys, this project is growing faster and faster. |

It turns out that the link from the download page was still wrong, so everyone still got beta 6, which didn't have any windows fixes yet! That's fixed now.
With the current version I cannot reproduce a crash when moving a selection. The mypaint brush engine is experimental; we disabled it for the release, only in git master it's enabled. |

Yep Tonight, I have just downloaded the latest Krita build: Version 2.4 RC 2 Using KDE Development Platform 4.7.4 (4.7.4) On my computer: Windows 7 (home edition) - 64 bit CPU: Intel Core(TM)i7 2630QM (Sandy Bridge) RAM: 8 GB Graphic card: GeFORCE GT504M NVIDIA 1 GB krita is a bit slow but, on the whole, it is already really usable No crash so far (I am trying to test Krita on Windows 7 as much as I can). At present, I can even open my RAW files THANKS a lot indeed for your magnificent work so far! |

Good to know, already install it.
- After drawing a little bit without crash, I check the opengl option to see if it work this time, and then Krita crash, without window error, and now, when I try to run krita again, I just can't start painting, because it crash. Put an option in the starter panel (where you put the pixel and inches parameters) for enable or disable opengl, I can't find a way to run krita without that option. Thanks again for the incredible support guys. |

Hm... In fact, Krita should be able to recover automatically from opengl not working. But I played with it on windows a bit yesterday and didn't get a crash. If you go open %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\.calligra\share\config\kritarc (from the top of my head, I'm not on windows right now), you can manually set opengl to false; apart from that I haven't got a real solution right now, but I'll look into it.

(please excuse my bad english)
I'm learning to use Krita (the DVD is really helpful). I'm on windows 7. So far it was quite difficult because it often crashed when I was trying something with layers : add, delete, group layer..., but the new release is a lot more stable for this. There is still the crash when you close the "about" panel ^^ and yes, some features are still slow (the control of the brush size with shift+drag is also sometimes really slow (with airbrush for example)), but it's a real pleasure to use this software, and I still have so much to discover (just in the impressive brush engine you can spend hours to test things )... Thanks for your work ! |

Hi Theotenai,
Don't worry about your English -- most of us aren't native speakers either! I'm really wondering about the crash with the about panel... That's something I've never seen happen. I'll try to look into it next weekend. Have fun with Krita -- and when you've painted something cool, please show it to us! |
