Layer upgrades

Thu May 17, 2012 7:54 pm
Hello
I have a problem in the layer use. First of all i find it great that the fliters are non destructive like the blur but the thing is it's seems not possible to link the effect on only one layer. For example i draw a background and a first plan on a diffrent layer, but i want my first plan to be with a blur effect and keep the effect non destructive. For the moment all the layer under the filter are affect by him.

Also in the same idea to link layers it will be great if we can use an other layers to get his alpha on a new layer on top of it. If i draw a sihlouette and then create a new layer link to the silhouette layers, My drawing won't overflow the shape of the sihlouette.

The next thing is i think you can make mask on the same line of the layer because it will save a lot of space.

Bug report at the same time.
When i use the keyboard shortcut for increase the size of the brush, the application crash every time i get the brush to a certain size.

Use a filter mask instead of a filter layer.

You can group your effect with the first plan to not affect the background layer.

Image
Group the channel concerned, check the 'alpha icon' for layer above your 'container' ( container = rabbit )

The thing i was trying to say is when you create a transparency mask or a layer mask it create a new layer. But if you make the mask on the same layer it will use less layer lines.

Sorry, my english need to improve ;D

I try your link for the bug report but my user name and password don't work

Thank you for the explainations by the way ;)
