Hi!

For the 2.4 release, I prepared a PDF with information on what's new in Krita, a bunch of screenshots and some reference images: http://www.valdyas.org/~boud/about-krita-2-4.zip. I would like to do the same thing for the 2.6 release, which will happen this month.

So I'd like to ask all artists whether you could send me (boud@valdyas.org) some images I could use in the guide! Please add details like website and so on for the attribution. The images need to be licensed in a way that magazines and review sites can reproduce the screenshots containing the images.

Replying to this thread is fine, too, of course.

Wow,Krita 2.6 release is Exciting!
Just a suggestion.
Krita is equally good for product designs and car designs as it is for comics and other Art works!

Most product designers or car designers use Sketchbook Pro or Corel painter, but these softwares posses a big limitation on maximum canvas size, which is not enough for sketching all detailed profiles(side, isometric or front, back, etc) with Taillamp details, side indicator etc.Krita supports large canvas size.

So why not illustrate both the capabilities through various artworks and sketches. :)

You can select a few sketches from these links,or some similar sketches,if someone can contribute:
(Please include real like light and shading effects.)

My new Fujitsu Lifebook T902 tablet (13.3 inch)is estimated to arrive within next week.So would like to do some product design for Krita, which can be freely reproducible by media.

This will definately attract and motivate Lakhs of product designers to use Krita.
This will also set a standard that Krita's future versions would be more enhanced for product deigning applications.

This is a great slide show for car designers for few different car body styles:

The shading, light effects in car body designs in this slide show is just amazing! This will give an idea to all Krita Coders what exactly Car designers want in Krita in Next versions!

It obviously has to be made in Krita regardless of possibility what it COULD be achieved.
I just downloaded 2.5.2.0 for windows as latest version is hanging and making impossible to achieve anything. I will do some little thing just for this - also to motivate boudewijn to release win version ;)

Krita 2.5.2 version is very old, never tried such a old version.
Windows New version (2.5.9) was already released, though has some big bugs.
I guess, you have downloaded the wrong version.

Please uninstall Krita old version ,Restart Laptop or PC and Install new version (2.5.9).

Krita 2.5.9 may take some time to adjust to your System(Taking time to adjust in new PC enviornment is a software bug, needs to be fixed.).

It may not start immediately after installing(Atleast I experienced this.).
You need to restart your computer after installing, and try opening ,for 3 times before you finally be able to open Krita for first time.
If its still not possible to open Krita even after restating your System 3 times, please remove and reinstall Krita.
Then,Krita might work on your Syatem, properly.

Well old or not - it is working for me while 2.5.9 isnt so I cant make anything on it. Thx for links but I know where to find it ;) Like I said before - it is hanging for a second each couple seconds. And for painting I need smooth experience. I see youre very passionate about posting on forum. Thats cool man, when you find some bugs go to submit them, that would help a lot.
Krita is extremely powerful on Linux but I do not have linux installed atm due to many changes in work/life/hardware... Really have to get some space and throw in ubuntu/kubuntu on disk because seriously... The difference between Krita on Linux and Windows is like between driving a muscle car and driving a... donkey? OK, is not that bad and dont get me wrong, I do appreciate all hard work boudewijn does on that field, but guy needs some help from experienced, windows developers. I do like idea of foundation, it may help a bit (my fantasy is that Krita grows just like blender did). Krita has a potential to be ultimate digital painting solution on all platforms and I hope this will happened.

So, while we are at it, question to boudewijn. 2.6 is planned as well for win now? I mean also will be released at the same time? I can only suspect you passionately hate windows at this point (judging by your blog where you described Windows build work as "soul-destroying" :D) but I still hope you will keep on working on win builds.

The instant response from krita developers has shown that Krita developers are really interested to solve the problems. They really work hard :)
I hope that Krita developers would resolve these bugs issue.
I wish , all the very best to them.
And please look at the lasso tool Performance improvement.
I have decided that the day a new Krita version would satisfy all my basic needs,I would donate atleast 5000 INR to Krita Foundation.
I recomend everyone who has been satisfied with krita to donate to Krita Foundation.

persionally speaking,I would prefer a MacBook over windows, but my problem is I need a compact portable 13.3 inch screen workstation or convertible tablet that I can take with me to trips, holidays, anywhere.I cannot take a Wacom Cintiq to everyplace with me.
I thought I would buy a ModBook Pro tablet, but my dad didnt agreed, its costly,so I am buying Fujitsu Lifebook T902.
http://www.modbook.com/

I wish that Krta Developers do make a Mac Versiôn.A Mac OS is more refined than windows. Then it would add Vallue to ModBook Pro (A modified Tablet PC) which suports both Mac OS as well as Windows 7.
