I have a hard time keeping up with the forum . Jouni is the Summer of Code student working Animation and Dmitry and I will be working on animation support for the foundation, sponsored by the kickstarter pledges.

Has the default been changed for the colour picker? seems that ctrl is now "pick colour from selected layer only"

Yeah, a mystery contributor added selection sticky-keys(like, alt for substract and shift for add, like all other programs), but that messed up tool invocation a little... Just switch it back in the canvas input settings |

I built Krita this morning ( 2.9 branch ) and I can't replicate your bug. |

Thanks I didn't know about the tool invocation.
Yes, it seems it was set to "background colour from current layer". I changed it back to "foreground colour from merged image" deevad, strange, perhaps it is Windows specific.. |

Haha, no, it's my fault. I updated this morning , but the bug is newer and my build is already too old to experience this fresh new bug. |

perhaps its my fault for downloading a build that hadn't officially been announced
but I saw that the inherit alpha for layer styles was done, so... got excited. btw, is there going to be a "counter" for the paypal donations so we can see how its growing? About Mr Abrahams selections update, i'm not entirely sure what he wants the ctrl key to do, is it the possibility to move the selection once its drawn or? ( i know it hasn't all been implemented yet, I'm just a lil confused) Oh and thanks do Deevad for the + - Icons. |

Right now, pressing ctrl immediately changes the cursor. That needs to have a little bit of a delay so the other uses of ctrl don't show the picker cursor. I'm trying to do a daily update for the paypal page with the total, right now it's about 500 euros.

right, well ctrl didn't do anything in relation to selections for me, but that build is "broken" anyway, so i'll wait for an official announcement. If things move slowly over the next 2 weeks, you could let the current pledgers know that if they added just 5 more euro's to their pledge, it could add at least two stretchgoals. 10 euro's could add 4, just a thought. (thats only if at least 600 people do it though)
(679x5= 3395) I have my fingers crossed for 29,000, but I don't know how many are new users or returning (based on the 690 that pledged last time) |

hi,
first: congrats to your kickstarter goal. And second: can i disable rulers? would be nice if i can mute rulers in drawing mode, maybe with shift+click on them. But huge steps you made from the 2.8 Version. Im so in love with this tool. |

You mean assistants? There's two options, you can either go into assistant mode and turn off the 'eye' icon, or use view->turn off painting assisntas/turn off assistant preview |

read the interview with deevad, and I agree with his point about bugfixing. I hope that can be addressed I report bugs anyway, but still open to stuff to make that experience more fun.
I have some annoying questions 1. What happens to the other stretchgoals that don't get paid for? will they just be implemented slower? Will they be added to next years KS? 2. The funding allows for dev to work full-time on krita for at least a few months right? or am I mistaken? 3. Is there a goal for the final stages of layerstyles? (blending options, contour, optimizations seems to be what is left) many thanks to dmitry from recent LS bugfixes. |

1) It's impossible to say. All stretch goals came out of bugzilla. If someone finds time or inspiration, they might happen anyway -- just like Michael has started working alread on the selection modifiers stretch goal. It's just like last year: 2.9 contained a huge amount of stuff that wasn't funded by th kickstarter anyway. The kickstarter is to make it possible to keep Dmitry working on Krita full-time and me part-time.
2) Together with the regular income stream (steam, donations, dvd and usb-stick sales), we'll be able to keep Dmitry working full-time for another year 3) We fully intend to implement those, too. It'll take a bit of time, like everything... As for bug fixes, we're doing all we can: with the increase in popularity of Krita, we're getting more bug reports, and despite having fixed about 40 bugs in the last week alone, we're still at over 270 bugs... Fortunately, Krita getting more popular also means more people start hacking on Krita, which means more bug fixes. |

congratulations guys!
looking forward to voting, and seeing the results. I see two goals are claimed already, but 7 is still a nice amount Now to art-making! |

I read during the KS that there was some investigation into "stacked" brushes, is the intention for them to be just for pixel brushes, or all?
