Hello guys,
I'm Maria, I'm doing my initial task for the Outreach Program for Women. So, i have some ideas about how to improve the webshop but I want to know your opinion and your ideas to develop a good project. These are my ideas: 1. Zazzle for selling the items. Personally, I don't like Zazzle. I propose Prestashop, wich is more versatile and is open-source. http://www.prestashop.com/en/ 2. About merchandise: Do you want to sell in the Wepshop the typical items like mugs, t-shirts...? (Krita users are artists, we can do it better ) 3. Apart from using the Krita logo for the items, I thought using images created by Krita users (with the permission of the artist). But I need you participation for that. 4. Marketing: twitter, blogs, announce the new webshop, IRC channels.... what do you think? Hope you participate in that, if you have any questions or ideas I will be happy to response you! Thanks to all |

Well, one thing I've been thinking about is merchandise with the krita splash. Every four, five months a new mousemat, laptop cover or mug with the current splash

Glad to have you onboard! I know that some time ago, Boud made a T-shirt with the Krita mascot by tysontan:
viewtopic.php?f=138&t=109395 That looked pretty cool. Mousepads, mugs and such could also be ideas. If you think Prestashop is better, I'm not against it (though I'm not the one who gets to decide). The Zazzle account is empty anyway. I'm sure there are a number of artists who'd be willing to let you use their works. And if you could handle the marketing, yes, that'd be great, maybe write a few articles on Krita's best features, send twitters of the latest development, call for artists to contribute to the webshop, etc. That's a lot of work though, to be sure. Good luck, and welcome! |

Hi!
About marketing, (in the case of get the project i would like to do it, in the case that Chintal gets the project, i would be happy to contribute with Krita doing this part), i like marketing, so, it would be interesting for me About Zazzle, the environment of zazzle is quite boring. It's a program for artists, so, Prestashop is more versatile but there are a lot of webs like these, i will be looking for the best option, if i have some news i will post it here. Thanks to both! P.D.: Krita mascot it's so cute!! |

If you could also help with marketing, it would be absolutely awesome! Most of us are clueless about marketing. After all, Krita is one of the "best kept secrets" of the Open Source graphics world, with emphasis on "secret." It's certainly not on purpose. Also, merchandise won't sell if nobody is aware of the program.
Krita is also improving at lightning speed. The Krita 2.7 development version already has some big improvements compared to 2.6, so when it gets released this summer, it could be a great time to really promote Krita! I'm glad to hear you like marketing, I personally hate it, hahah! If people of different talents can all contribute to Krita, I think it really has the potential to become a big success story! |

Hello!
There is a name to call krita users? like in devian-> devians, a name like kriters? it can be cute! and is more personal! We can do the vest of the baby that is on zazzle with a quote saying: my mum/dad is a kriter! Only the users of krita will understand it, but i like... what do you think? |

I don't think there's a name like that... Kritter is a bit too close to English "critter" for comfort, though I have for years tried to convince my surroundings to use "to kritter" as a verb instead of "to photoshop"
