I sketched out some more buttons these are kinda "oxygeny" (remember these are just sketches)
And here they are without the "buttons" just the symbols... hmmm the duplicate one looks weird EDIT: ok so one more - did some monochrome ones that from the base only use one colour (except delete layer which I thought deserved the warning of the inverted colour). Here in Black, White and "Sticker Outline" EDIT 2: One finally fiddly one - a "sticker outline" but with white on black instead and a sorta bevelly and indented one Now I got work to do!

- I don't like the reordering of the toolbox. Text doesn't belong with the painting tools as that is shape functionality. There are also some other tools that wouldn't be accessible at all if they are not in the layerbox. - the double titles in the docker are unavoidable as that is system behavior as far as I know - the toolbox already has grouping with separators, they are just not visible on Windows - moving the stuff from the statusbar to the toolbar doesn't work, many users have smaller screens than you and that wouldn't fit anymore and the statusbar also shows other stuff like the progress. It's already possible to hide the statusbar though. |

jensreuterberg - I like the black one without gradient and outline the most. Most readable imo.
slangkamp - ok. I suppose those cannot be changed. But how about top bar? Some thought about it: - First 3 icons are easy to understand for newcomers and do not need change IMO - gradient I do not use it often -> should be in 'Tool Options' panel for gradient fill tool, or moved to right as less important. - pattern - won't work unless user chooses brush that uses pattern option - so it is less used option, It should have ability to enable pattern for current brush and be moved to right, - color widget moved to tools panel, as suggested in first post. - brush editing, choose brush, blend mode buttons etc. should be mover left, just after file toolbar as the most important and most used buttons. I added 'brush tip' selector button, only for one thing - new user will recognize its purpose easily, because same buttons is placed in similar place in Photoshop. So after clicking it, newbie will probably click next button 'brush editing' and so on. It will be easy to understand those all all related to brush modifications. - I added 'paint with dynamic movement' and 'radial symmetry' after eraser button, because a) it simplifies left panel b) look like subcategory of brush tool imo. And one tweak I would like to see - currently separator in not separating sections of toolbar, because it has 0 padding around it. istance between buttons without separator is bigger that with it. Should be in reverse. Sorry for long post. |

-gradient is used in gradient tool and for painting as color source, moving it to the gradient tool won't work (if you don't need it, it can be hidden)
-for the pattern the same applies -if we move the color selector from the toolbar, it might be better to move it to the docker -moving the brush tip selection to the toolbar has some problems in Krita as not every brush engine has a tip (might even confuse users more because it doesn't work like Photoshop there and it looks like it) - 'paint with dynamic movement' and 'radial symmetry' can't be moved to the toolbar, everything in the toolbar has to work with all painting tools the only other possibility there would be to move it to the tool options |

I'm not sure about the layer box icons... There is a kind of break from the style used for the other monochrome /grayscale icons we use in Krita.
