I've really been enjoying using Krita over the last 3 or 4 months and I have been playing around (no serious stuff) with the program until recently. For the last couple of weeks or so I've been doing some series paintings and projects with it and I noticed a few things that kinda irritate me about certain functions within Krita. The number one thing for the moment
![]() ![]() The other thing is a selfish thing for me. I'm used to being able to select colors using the color picker (ctrl in krita), (alt in photoshop) via my style pen button. Unfortunately there is no option in canvas setting to have just a modifier (ctrl) set to a button, middle mouse or otherwise. And Ubuntu's wacom panel doesn't allow for only modifiers either, only options such as (middle mouse, right, left buttons only - but no modifier options at all). Reaching down and hitting the ctrl key via the keyboard is ok, but for me it breaks my concentration groove, (again selfish ![]() |

For the second part, if I understand you correctly, you want to pick colors with e.g. the middle button click of the wacom stylus? If so, that works already. Just assign that click to the secondary tool action in the canvas input settings.
As for multiple layer selection -- I know it's not the answer you want, but don't hold your breath. Development priorities at the moment are: fixing the scaling at low zoom levels in OpenGL, fixing regressions with tablet support after the big tablet rewrite and finally fixing as many bugs before we release 2.8 in December or January. Big refactorings are unlikely to happen before we start working on 2.9 (or 3.0, depending on whether the release after 2.8 is going to be Qt5 based). |

Nice, I'll try that ![]() ![]() |

Boudewijn, maybe it's an idea to collect these threads in a 'ideas for future refoctoring' or 'ideas for krita 2.9/3.0' wiki-page? Doubtlessly, there's a couple of other things that are bigger projects than they may seem.

I prefer to use bugzilla (bugs.kde.org) for that. We've tried several other methods, from vision documents to wiki pages to brainstorm forums, but in the end, it's mostly bugzilla where I look and prioritize. The multi-layer selection issue is here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285420. There are already two duplicates.

Ah yes, it makes sense that when you're spending most of your day on the bugtracker, to have feature requests put there as well
![]() I should stress we need some input from users who have experience with multiple layer selection here. As basic features are outlined by Anna, but I can't see the desired behaviour for, for example, painting with multiple layers. Would you only be painting on the top-most? Or add paint on all layers? As far as I can tell, there's no FOSS software using this functionality, so there's not much to compare to. |

Do you mean alternate tool invocation? How do you set it up for stylus mmb or right click for the color picker (not the wheel, but the eye dropper)? |

I dont want to start new thread - just short question about layers. I can group layers but there is no option to un-group them? If I delete group all layers in it are also deleted. Am I missing something here?
