Hi, recently I was doing some work with symmetrical painting. It works great and is huge time saver but symmetrical editing of layer won't work with tools like selection, moving layer etc.
I wish I could edit those layers symmetrically with selection and move tool, so maybe this could be achieved by mirroring cloned layer. But for now it is not supported in Krita. So I wish for ability to mirror cloned layers |

Ok. I suppose nobody uses cloned layers.. I'm sad .

Mirroring a layer is tricky -- we did try to have transformation layers, that is, a selection + a transformation formula, but getting that to render right was really hard. The other ideas are worthwhile, we _should_ improve support for the mirror mode to include other tools. But that's likely to take some time -- there's a huge backlog of wishes at bugs.kde.org. But it would be good add these requests in any case.

I tried to use them, but you can't paste anything on a layer with clones because when you merge the layer above you lose the linking with the clone layers. IMHO if the layer with clones is the merge destination, clone layers should still point to it. |

I don't use much cloned layers yet in Krita. But I abuse cloned shapes on Inkscape So:
I give a thumbs up on mirror, scale and rotate cloned layers. Current model allows for this, an Adjustment filter layer for transformations would work great in this cases just like the blur or desaturate adjustment layers work.
