Well, Ramon is also playing with background. Could you check with him and maybe share the subtitle files with him, too?

Wow, this Chroma key is perfect! i love it. I would like to contact you monkeyplanet, because i was trying to improve also details on the video using what we already have. I have done a new compo displacing boud to the left and sven and dmitryk to the right. This way we have more space or the chroma show. showing features and more images in detail. what do you think ? I invite you to the IRC Channel to discuss this topic in real time and try to get the best for the campaign. #krita see you there

I've seen a really nice try by Ramon and a beautiful video still by Monkeyplanet yesterday. I'm wondering -- how far are you two from having a final video with subtitles and everything? I've got the final okay from Kickstarter, but I think that it's too late to give life this week -- I want to give the media some advance warning, so my target is now next Tuesday.

I have contacted Ramon on IRC, sorry I have never used Konversation before.
The deadline for next tuesday seems comfortable enough. |

Hi Ramon, I received your PM and think the video you are working on is good. I am linking the subTitles files below

Okay I've done them if you still want them.
Ha ha ha I actually had it crash on me. My tablet/mouse suddenly was painting everywhere without clicking. Anyway: Transformation - Photoshop - Layers & Masks - Painting - Display - Selections & Masks - Though you might stick with the other ones since you've updated them. Side note: Is there multiple selection in Krita? I couldn't figure it out. And I think this is really important ... I really think you need to show people the rewards and there needs to be another level under 15 I think. I think €2 should be a thanks (because there are quite a few people would will donate that small) but you can keep it at 5 if you think so. €10 should be voting privileges and keep €15 the same. I think quite a few people will look at €10 and €15 and go "Why not pay for the extra 5" and subconsciously you'll get more money that way. But I have to say I'm a bad Krita user. Not just in art but .... for the same price of a postcard, I just bought myself mangastudio from amazon. Don't worry, I'm still passionate about open source software, just I have a comic coming up and I can't get non-pixelated thin lines in Krita I just thought that might give you an idea what someone could get for a reward. But pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *gasp* eeeeeeeeee show the backers some rewards under a heading called "Rewards". You'll thank me! |

Hm, those are very nice headers! As for multiple selection -- do you mean of layers? That's something we've been thinking about for quite some time now. As for Manga Studio, isn't that about 50 euros on Amazon? In any case, the non-pixelated thin lines in Krita is what you get when you support the kickstarter
I'm not sure how to show the rewards -- should I make mockups of a usb stick or a postcard? |

Hi everyone,
As regards the "rewards" (such as postcards and alike) for every donations I think you should be extremely careful In short, the idea of giving a reward is nice but it might be *very time-consuming* ... For instance, OpenShot (an open source software to do video-editing), last year, made a campaign, through Kickstarster, and it was a huge success. The downside was that the developer took a big amount of time to ship all items promised to the donors (instead of being able to code...) I paste here below a short extract from his blog [1]: " Rewards Update I have successfully processed all physical rewards, including T-shirts, USB Flash drives, and signed certificates. This was a crazy, insane process that taught me much about the US postal system (as well as many other countries and their crazy mail systems). I am so glad that this is behind me now! In all honesty, the rewards process took about 6 weeks longer than I expected it to and about $2,000 more than I originally planned" IMHO, if you want to sponsor an open source software with a small (let's say below 10 dollars) amount you don't need a "physical" reward (postcard, usb flash drive etc). A list with all donors (even the ones with very small donations) included in Krita 2.9 as html file should be enough Personally, I would prefer to have the Krita developers coding instead of spending their very limited time for sending postcards all over the world In the very long past, I have worked as a treasurer for Qgis (a GIS open source software) for around 2 years and we never shipped postcards or Usb flash drives However, for every small donation, as a reward, we inserted the name of the donor in Qgis (as html file) to testify their donations. I've uploaded the updated video now.
As for the rewards fulfilment, I've got some experience with that already -- with all the dvd's. Basically, it'll be me and Irina (and maybe other people from the Krita community in the Netherlands) sitting down for a weekend and stuffing the envelopes . Sven and Dmitry will have to sit down for a day to sign the postcards, but it will be a one-off thing. Fortunately, our postal service is pretty sane, and for large runs, we can buy the 'stamps' on the website of the post office and print it out on stickers at home, just like the address labels. And, like with the big dvd mailings, we then borrow a bunch of postbags and ferry them to the post office at the end of the street Like this: http://krita.org/item/215-in-the-bag |

Allright guys,
I have finished my version of the video. I have punched up the colours in the original footage and removed some noise. I also changed the first image and the text animation. Since a viewer might decide in the first 20/30 secs whether to watch the video, with small attention spans and all, I thot this image might be a better start. I can make another version to incorporate what Ramon is working on. That might take some time tho. I just saw the video. He had a good idea of adding social media icons on the last clip. Please lemme know if you spot any errors or have feedback. (Please download and watch, DropBox applies its own compression if you use their webplayer.) *RemovedLink*

Not layers but I couldn't select multiple objects. So I would use my fussy select tool and click one thing but I couldn't find the button (normally it is shift or something) to do multiple selects. Perhaps I'm using the wrong button? Oh really? It's gone up? Nah I got it for 20 aussie dollars :3 Though 10 for shipping .... Yay I got it on special! Actually that is something as well. A sneaking way of getting more money is to have the amount of money and then have the shipping amount underneath X3 Exactly correct. Show the audience the usbs and the postcards they are going to get or else they won't trust you. "Hey, I have this program and if you support me I'll give you something." "What is it?" "A postcard" ".... Can I see what this postcard looks like?" "You'll have to wait and see." is a very suspicious conversation to have |

Sorry for the double post. It may be too late, that is fine, but I really think you need to reduce the size of the subtitles. Currently it is too crowded on the video, not massively damaging, but it could be improved. |

Hmm... I can change the size by 1/3rd and see how that looks, will do it tonite. I just want the text to be readable in the webpage where the window is small, but sure the size can be reduced.
