Layer styles

Does the proposed layer styles include drop shadow, stroke, inner/outer glow, bevel/emboss, and all that fun stuff? If so, it would be great to include those for all brush engines also - most importantly bevel/emboss and drop shadow for a complete natural media feel!

Sorry, I missed this. I'm doing layer styles right now as a plain 100% photoshop/psd clone. Whatever we do with it in the future will have to stay psd-compatible... The current dialog is a 1:1 clone as well...

Thanks for replying. Any chance of including those effects in brush settings as well?
Image showing bevel effect being used on a layer. Overlapping strokes leaves a large opaque layer and the bevel effect is added on top around the edges.

This is the exact same image that shows bevel effect applied per stroke; so each successive stroke contains its own bevel which gives a natural brush-stroke feel

I created these examples in gimp using the add bevel filter.

Well, right now, not really. I'm not even sure I'll manage to finish the layer styles themselves in time for 2.9. And then, there's another issue: sure, we could copy Photoshop's brush effects, but I'd much rather Krita be original in that respect. After all, copying photoshop is essentially a fools game. We can only spend about a hundred hours a week on Krita, while Adobe has at least 4000 hours a week for Photoshop development. We cannot clone everything and still have original features...

No need to clone everything exactly, but I've been dying for a stroke, bevel/emboss and drop shadow in Krita for awhile now. These layer features would most definitely be a strong asset to Krita imo.

yes, I agree it's not necessary for Krita to be a clone of Photoshop; besides I don't think those effects exist in the brush settings (per-stroke as opposed to layer effects) in Photoshop.
