I'm still working on the kickstarter... Wolthera make an action-packed, quick-paced video. But I'm a but stuck with rewards and features.
For rewards, we can do the same things as last time, but I'd also like some fresh, feasible ideas. Keep in mind that the monetary value of a reward must be much less than the monetary level, otherwise it's a sale and we'll have to do VAT things. Also, digital as opposed to physical is better I've got: downloads of Muses and of the new DVD we're contemplating, custom tutorials, mugs, usb-sticks (we've ordered 100 of them), stickers, laminated shortcut cheat sheets... But what else? For features: we're going to do two big things: performance optimization and animation. Above and beyond, I want to have a list of 24 interesting features that can be implemented in two weeks, with a stretch goal per feature. Ideas for features, please with a reference to a bugzilla report! |

I can do tutorials again, if people are interested.

It was a big success in 2014, both in terms of revenue generated and in terms of useful tutorial stuff, so I'm not going to hesitate to take you up on the offer!

I have no dev experience so saying "stuff that can be done in 2weeks" isn't really something I can grasp.
but I listed essential stuff on that other thread viewtopic.php?f=137&t=123658&start=15#p329760 You did mention the word "interesting" though. I guess my pick for something exciting would be the gradient mapping, which I have seen in the tracker. |

I have picked some of the wish bug as well as some new request for the features, that I think are important. I request you guys to consider items in this list.
The list is as follows: Layer stack • Svg import in layer through file layer, will help immensely in lettering comics till we have text tool re-factored. • Moving layer content in steps (i.e. 1px and 10px) with arrow key - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300488 (has two other duplicate request) • Moving layer up and down in layer stack - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339842 • Make Visibility, inherit alpha, lock and unlock quickly possible by dragging mouse over icons or combination of shortcut - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336843 The above wish bug combines other wish bug of adding selected layers automaticaly to groups - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345464 • Layer stack redesign according to the forum discussion - viewtopic.php?f=288&t=123326&hilit=layer+krita • Selecting multiple layer with 'R' click or R + drag on canvas - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342595 • Arrange and distribute for layers - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338002 • Deleting all hidden layer at once to clean up garbage, can be a menu in right click on layer panel which can be called as 'Delete hidden layers' • Shortcut to select all layers in layer stack Redesigned text tool • Text tool is need of the hour for comic letterers, we need to rely on Inkscape for lettering now, an inbuilt and enhanced text tool with various language and script support will be great boon for comic artists as it will make the workflow single application based. Guides and rulers • Guides are immensely needed in marking bleeds layouts compositions, gutter space in comic panels etc etc. Guides such as rule of thirds help in composition, vertical and horizontal guides help in designing panels and pages as well as hand lettering ( with pixel brush) comics. Filters • Gradient map filter - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335405 Transform • Apply (repeat) last transformation again with menu item and a shortcut - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343072 • Scale from center pivot - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344263 • Scale transform should have other units i.e. pixel, mm, centimeter etc other than percentage in tool option. - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342711 Status bar overhaul: • Show information about approximate memory or size(bytes) of the document will help in determining when to merge (flatten) or save an incremental copy and avoid future unresponsiveness due to huge memory usage https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344331 • Show layer color space along with image color space eg: image color space / layer color space • Show information about usage of tool like it is in gimp. e.g if you choose lasso or polygon selection, we can show usage information as click and drag to do a selection or for brush tool as click to paint and hold control to pick color. This will be helpful as some guidance for new users. • Show 'X' 'Y' co-ordinates of cursor with respect to document unit i.e. pixel or cms based on what user has set for ruler this will help to make precise selection and objects. Overview docker enhancement Current design of overview docker has only zooming and panning functionality. Adding a button for Flipped view and Rotate canvas slider will be helpful and make it complete, this will also be helpful in avoiding wastage of screen space due to multi-view sub-window (mainly used by me for flip view). Thank you for reading.

Hello everyone,
As regards the list of features (http://goo.gl/vylUu3), hopefully, there are at least 2 of them where the Krita developers might be inspired by G'MIC filters I have just tried both of these G'MIC filters with Gimp 2.8.14 on Windows 7 (right now the G'MIC - Krita 2.9.2 plugin does not work fine on Windows to test them...) 1) Cutout filter wish (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333168) I have watched the Photoshop tutorial listed in this wish report and I have tried to reproduce it with the Cutout filter of G'mic [1] with one of the same images of this video. This Cutout filter is already present with Krita on Linux. 2) Gradient map wish (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335405) These past days David Tschumperlé has coded a new interesting filter (Transfer colors advanced) for G'MIC. It is available with the newest beta version of G'MIC (version 1.6.2.0) [2] In short, it allows you to transfer the colors from one image to another. If you draw a gradient and add it as a layer with your image, with this new G'MIC filter, you can transfer the colors of your gradient into your image (that is, somewhat the feature showed in the Photoshop video pertaining to this wish). I have recorded a video where I have added 2 images and 2 gradients in order to show this new G'MIC filter [3]. Hopefully, this filter might be present in the future with some upgrade of Krita - G'MIC P.S: As regards the Unified curves filter wish (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324332), with G'MIC - Krita, you might try the filter Curves interactive which sports many colorspaces [4] through some GUI. Most of my wishes are brush related and docker related
I don't mind not having adobe brush compatibility but it's a plus bc of photoshop's already established large library Also thank you for your resource manager feature! It's been a great help and hope to compile my own brushset sometime There are two that I have thought of myself that I will submit bug reports for but I will add details here in the meantime
I just realized how much I'm happy with krita at the moment, most of these suggestions are simple improvements. I don't have much complaints other than the occasional slowness when making big pictures and using big brushes, which I'm sure will be addressed with LOD strokes I have much faith in krita developers to create an even better version of krita this time around |

There are some great ideas in here...
For a potential reward. Could we have new t-shirts printed? Based off the comment "the monetary value of a reward must be much less than the monetary level", I don't know if that eliminates shirts out. It is also a good marketing thing if people are walking around with Krita t-shirts. |

This was the list that was already considered, btw...
that's eleven stretch goal features, we need several more. These are the ones from the previous kickstarter that weren't done, but they might take more time to do...

Lut baking: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345993
It's relatively easy to implement, and completes the ocio workflow in Krita.(Also, there's FOSS ocio configs like that of blender which allows you to apply a 'kodak look' and the like to your image ) |

@TheraHedwig
I am not sure i understand but lut baking works by saving the adjustments needed for an hdr image to display to an e.g. srgb display to an ocio config(and then loads the config)? If that's the case maybe lut export is easy to implement? Since you mention Lut's , it 'd be nice to be able to load and apply luts(to selected layers, not the whole image) and have the ability to turn luts on or off. Luts could be used to transfer grades(color corrections) from other programs to krita as a quick way to check how a matte painting would look in different versions of a composited image. |

Features:
Hotkeys for adding and subtracting from a selection Brush Option Sliders for Tip Rotation, Smudge Length, Color Rate, Softness, Etc. Genericized keyboard shortcuts to control Brush Options up/down Genericized UI buttons for "keyboard shortcuts" for tablets Gradient map filter Improvements: Faster liquify transform brush updates (this can be lower resolution or whatever, but it's too slow to be usable right now) Faster layer move (this will stall up my computer if I move it too far, it can move less smoothly or lower res if that helps) Nudge controls for moving selections and layers (arrow keys move 1px, shift arrow keys move 10px) Transform from center point option (alt) Stability with G'mic (I get a lot of crashes here, I'm a little afraid to use G'mic) Unified curves editor |
