How do I know which RGB profile should I choose if I don't understand their names? I'm very confused..

It's certainly proprietary code, licensed by Adobe and Prophoto. If you own them with a license, you can probably retrieve the *.icc or color profile to work with Krita.
Where are they ? Krita developers can't bundle them : they are the propriety of a company and closed or copyrighted code.

For me, AllColorsRGB-elle-V2-g10.icc is *as* cryptic as Prophoto or AdobeRGB , maybe even less because their is more informations in the name.
But here, label can't help us ; I can only 'read' a color profile with an image graph, or spec ...

Yes, like deevad says, we can't ship adobe RGB and prophoto RGB(specifically, we're not allowed to ship files with Adobe RGB and Prophoto as names). However, Elle's profiles are made and tested by someone who knows what she's doing.

One of the changes I want to make is to have Krita know the colourants, and then make a widget that show the size of the space, but unless you know what prophoto's supossed to look like, that wouldn't help you either.

I'm still a bit 'confused ..
I usually use Prophoto RGB in a 2.2 gamma environment with a D65 white point monitor calibration...

Definitely.. The choice of the profile is one of the first things to do in krita.

For example, it would be useful to show the graphics of the color spaces.
To which graphical gamut/color space does corresponds:

- CIERGB?
- ClayRGB?
- Gray-D50?
- IdentityRGB?
- krita25_lcms-builtin-sRGB?
- Lab-D50?
- LargeRGB?
- scRGB?
- sRGB?
- WideRGB?

It doesn't seem Krita ships with a version of ProPhoto d65, and as far as I understand Elle's notes, this is because prophoto officially is supossed to deal with print, hence the d50 white point. Adobe RGB does have d65, even if it's smaller.

Well, the issue is that icc profiles themselves don't really know much beyond their gamma, whitepoint and collorants. You can however add your own profiles, you know? So if you press the blue file icon, you should get a browser window where you can navigate to and import a profile.
ICC profiles themselves are not hardcoded, but we can't ship ProPhoto without risking legal action from whoever made the ProPhoto profile.

That's something that, as I mentioned, is something I still want to do, but there's no real ETA on it.
