Hey all,
Loving Krita!!! Just a quick question. Are there any plans to have more tools concerning the Timeline in the future? Like basic key manipulations: Copy/Paste would be awesome. Pegs would be heaven also... Thanks, Pyer |

About the copy/paste:
The actual method is to use the 'copy frame' feature in the timeline. ( right click on a empty slot after your last frame then 'Copy frame' ). You'll get a duplicated new keyframe on the same timeline ready to be changed/deformed.You can also drag-and-drop this keyframe on the timeline, so this method can help to do a copy/pasting-like feature to any keyframes. |

Thanks but I was more referring to bulk copying and pasting. Say I have a cycle with 3 drawings. It would be cool to select the cycle in the timeline, copy it, and paste it wherever... Hope it makes sense... |

It does make a lot of sense.
I'm trying also to figure out how to copy/paste many keyframes at the same time. The obvious and clear solution would be to have a possibility to select multiple keyframes, press CTRL-C, move to a different position in the timeline and CTRL-V, paste the copied keys into the timeline. It seems so obvious, that it makes me think: is there something that prevents this kind of function? I'm on a mac 10.11.3, if that causes any issues.. Anywho, great work guys, I've been watching closely on this development and it already looks really good! The interface looks clean and professional and the basic animation functions are already there. Keep it up! |

ctrl+c, v isn't possible because Krita would not be able to make a distinction between copying a selection on the canvas and copying a frame.
You can however select multiple frames and copy them via ctrl+drag, as stated in the manual. |

Hey, thanks for the answer, but I found out it doesn't work like in the manual.
If I do like in the manual, CTRL + Left click and drag, I get the functionality of a right click. However, if I select one or multiple frames, start dragging them and then press ALT, I get a plus sign and I can drop the copied frames to the desired location. It works good, it's just a mistake in the manual. |

It's not a mistake in the manual. That's how it works on Linux and Windows. Chances are that on OSX, ctrl is auto converted to cmd or something.

That's absolutely true. There's no mistake.
The manual is just incomplete on OSX part. Also to be more accurate, the functionality is a little bit different and that's harder for the user to stumble upon. On OSX, you have to first drag the keyframe and then press ALT to copy a frame. On win and linux it seems to be the other way around, press and drag. Just clarifying this, in case somebody else is trying to figure out the same thing! |

I just found out you can still press alt before dragging. But that just causes the default ALT behavior on other systems instead though.

Well, I wouldn't say that the manual is 'just' incomplete on the OSX part. If things are so randomly different on OSX vs Linux/Windows, then I am afraid I cannot make it complete at all, I can't even anticipate where it is different. https://phabricator.kde.org/T3958 |

Sorry if it sounded like complaining, but truly, I wasn't. You all are doing fantastic work and I don't want to put you off track. I'm new to Krita development forum, so I probably don't know what's the right procedure to report this kind of things. This is just a minor thing considering the whole development of Krita (I wouldn't know though) I just thought all the information and interest towards Krita would be a positive thing.
But if you show me the way, I'd be happy to write my observation somewhere if it helps anything. This link to the Phabricator, I don't know what to do there. I registered, but don't know where to properly drop my observation. Weigh in? And there somebody said "tests every single damn thing". I'm a total outsider, but to me that sounds like massive work that nobody wants to do. I would treat this "if there's a problem, someone will bring it up". If there are things that many people get stuck at, only then it would be added to the manual. Sorry if I sound intrusive, but I want to find out if there's any real reason for me to report anything if I find out something. I'd like to help in my own way, and I'm also trying to figure out how. |
