This is how the current graph of Krita looks like in Google Trends, a site that looks at trends in google searches:
As you can see, overall krita shows an healthy trend of growth in popularity, according to google searches. not too long ago there was a little "spike", that is very likely caused by the release of Krita 3.0. Since July 2015, Krita almost doubled it's popularity... and from july 2014 to today, Krita's popularity was pretty much tripled. |

Thanks for the graph! That's pretty cool to look at. It also conforms with my own gut feelings. Around 2006, 2007 we had Krita 1.6. That was a pretty stable release and at a time when the Linux desktop was really popular. Then we started porting to Qt4 and got into the doldrums until 2012 -- horrible time! From 2012, when we released Krita 2.4, we've seen a steady, healthy growth.
There is only one problem... Since 3.0 is released, we're getting so many bug reports that we're running behind, so many donations that I cannot reply to all of them with a personal thank-you and so on .

To any of the ill-informed who thought Krita's cute little pink mascot was silently hurting its adoption: To say this is evidence that you were flagrantly wrong would be an understatement.
I love this growing trend for Krita. This is still my favorite art program and I can't wait to contribute actual monies to next year's kickstarter.
I was wondering why there hasn't been another stable release patch since launch. All of you must be flooded with those reports coming in. |

That was actually planned for today, and I took last week off from the day job to get away from the endless rounds of reorgs, fix some bugs, finish some features and prepare new builds, but around the middle of the week fell ill, and I'm still not recovered. So much for plans of men and mice. There are new windows dev builds with all fixes on files.kde.org/3/windows/devbuilds, but that's all. |

It's difficult to be productive while sick, I know the feeling. So it's very understandable and I hope you feel better soon. Here's a quick Kiki inky while you're having some downtime.

That's really good. And no wonder. I came to know of krita some 4-5 years ago, and since then, it's unbelievable how far krita has come, in terms of functionality as well as reliability. Now it's my main app for concept arts. This is the result of the sheer hard work krita developers are doing. You guys are awesome, no wonder krita is awesome!
