So I can't even ask a harmless question. |

You can ask harmless questions, sure, but they have to make sense, and your question doesn't make sense. I haven't got a clue what answer you're after, unless it's generating a polemic about what Krita copies from Photoshop and whether that's good or bad. And I already gave my opinion on that here: http://www.valdyas.org/fading/index.cgi/2015/01/17

So does that mean Krita mimics photoshops UI including the keys and shortcuts or do both have different UIs? |

Krita and Photoshop have different UIs, sure! Krita does provide a shortcut profile that's photoshop user-friendly, but they are 2 different programs targeted at different types of people. Photoshop was designed with people doing photography, graphic and web design in mind first and foremost. Krita is built for people looking to paint digitally first and foremost (illustrators, comic artists, concept artists, game artists, etc.)

I think your question is "Is this a free Photoshop clone."
In which case, the question is: no, this is not a Photoshop clone. - Krita has a bunch of features that Photoshop has, but this is mainly because such features are useful (and indeed, other programs may have them too), not because it is actively trying to copy Photoshop. - Krita has a shortcuts set that mimics the one used in Photoshop so that Photoshop users would feel more familiar with it. But this also means that the -Default- shortcuts are in fact not the same as Photoshop. The UI is actually quite different from Photoshop. Many Krita users will argue that for drawing, the UI is superior. Photoshop does other stuff that can't be done in Krita (yet) though. When coming up with new UI ideas, the Krita devs tend to start thinking the UI from scratch (or based on feature needs and specifications). "Let's make this similar to [program X]" has never been how they work. |

So you're telling me Krita has some shorcuts that mimic Photoshop's but not all shortcuts mimic Photoshop is that right? |

How about you just download Krita and check for yourself? Krita can load different shortcut schemes, and one of them mimics photoshop, to the extent that the two applications are equivalent.

No, I'm saying that by default, Krita's shortcuts Don't mimic Photoshop's. However, Krita shortcuts can be changed and saved, so Krita comes with an option to switch to a different set of shortcuts that Do mimic Photoshop's. You can also modify them to anything else you want. |
