Hello,
I'm not sure if it's caused by Firefox or Krita, or both of them, or it's only my system. It happens to me that 90% of the times, if I copy an Image in Firefox (right click over the image > "Copy image") and then I try to create a new document in Krita ("File > New"), Firefox crashes. It sounds like an issue in Firefox (didn't investigate on that side yet) only that in Gimp I can do that without an issue. So I wanted to flag this here before. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks! To reproduce: 1) Start Krita 2) Start Firefox 2) In Firefox, do right-click > "Copy image", over an image like this https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7f/Eadweard_J._Muybridge_%28American%2C_born_England_-_Valley_of_the_Yosemite%2C_from_Rocky_Ford_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg 3) Then switch to Krita and go to (main menu) "File > New" |

Yes, I've seen this happen too. It might be worth trying to see whether copy/paste from firefox to another Qt5 application works. We're not doing anything weird, though I've seen bugs in the clipboard implementation in Qt before.

Hi boudewijn,
thanks for the reply.
I've checked by creating a new document and pasting the same clipboard content into an image frame in Scribus 1.5.2 appimage, Qt version 5.6.0: so far all fine after several attempts with Firefox. I'm on Ubuntu 14.04. I'll keep an eye to see if future updates of system and Qt libraries, will solve the problem. Thanks! |
