Hello Everyone, it's my first time I posting here, my name is Diogo
I'm using Krita for 4 months, I have used it almost every day, as an incentive to get used I decided to make a mod of icons for a game following the game style, if you want you can see the icons here https://trello.com/b/NFCg7L8Z , In addition to other paintings and drawings. I will give some feedback here and report some bugs. I will separate everything as BUG and BEHAVIOR(The way it is designed). Just to be clear, I'm loving the software and I'm grateful to the developers and all those who help the development because it is a powerful tool and well made. Please do not see it as a comparison or request to make Krita totally the same as other softwares. I have full understanding that Krita is Krita and I really like that but that does not prevent it from having the some standards. Everything marked as behavior is my feedback, I'm not demanding changes but just passing my point of view on some points that if changed, can make the software even better. ---BEHAVIOR---Shift key always calls the Line Tool, independent of the selected tool. Line tool should only be called with Shift while using a brush. If you use the selection tools, crop, transform and etc., shift should not activate the Line Tool. While using those tools you hold shift to constrain, In Krita the only way to constrain is to hold shift after you start the action. With any tool that is not a brush, the shift should not activate the Line Tool, only constrain the selected tool, at any moment. Only with a brush selected the shift should activate the line tool because that is the "constrain" for a freehand brush. ---BEHAVIOR---Opacity is always shared between tools If I set my brush to 60% opacity and I change to the fill bucket , gradient tool, vectors or anything else thats not the the brush, all the tools will also have 60% opacity and I have to change to the value lets say to 100% or whatever I want, when I go back to the brush, I have to change the opacity again. Tools with different purposes should have its own settings, independently. *I have the option "Temporarily save tweaks to presets" on. ***The Erase has an option to be independent in size and opacity. <3 ---*BUG/BEHAVIOR--- Erase mode always shared between tools This is the same as the opacity, each tool should have independent settings. If i'm painting with a brush and I turn on the erase mode to erase something and now I want to use the elipse tool, the Erase mode should be turned off for this new tool automatically. If I change the erase mode in that new tool, this action should not be transferred to another. *I don't know if it is because of that behavior but there is a bug where the erase button does not appear as enabled when you change tools. It will be shown as disable but act as enable and you need to double hit E to make it work normal again. ---BEHAVIOR--- Presets not acting as tools shortcuts (activators) Krita has a beutiful interface and an attractive art for the brush presets also helpful popup menu/palett but they don't call/activate the tool automatically when selected if you have something else in use. Exemple: I select the Polygonal Selection tool and I make my selection, if I right click to open the popup and select a brush, the Polygonal Selection tool continues active, I have an additional step to activate the brush tool. This seems small but it is an unnecessary additional step. If I open a menu and click on a preset, that means I want to use that preset now. If it is a brush preset the Freehand Brush Tool (B) should be automatically activated. BUGS ---BUG--- It is possible to paint off the canvas, this causes some problems using the transform tool because it often has a something off the canvas. ---BUG---Sometimes "Scale to New Size" using Box filter will distort and move the image and/or layer position, I don't know the cause but happens. ---BUG---In some cases CTRL+F (to apply the last filter) can cause crash, even working with small documents (512x512px). ---BUG---Windows(canvas) marked as "Always on top" cannot be moved maintaining the size and staying on top, if you try to move the window it will maximize. Also, if you try to close (X) the always on top window it will maximize instead of close and you need to close using the X in the top right corner. English is not my native language, if you find errors here or things that sounds weird, I'm sorry. It's not easy for me to write in English, even more long texts |

Hey. Could you please check if any of these has been reported already? We cannot track bugs that people post on the forum, they really should be going to the bugtracker

Hi!! I have a huge problem. I had an old laptop with windows os, and Krita worked well. Few hours ago I bought a MacBook (2016) and tried to work in krita. so I launched the driver for my painting tablet, and all was well, until I met that problem. My tablet works good in any program on my new macbook, or in any area of Krita (settings, brushes etc) but on the canvas I have HUUUUGE BUGS!!!!! the lines aren't smooth and it loads badly!! And this problem is with canvas ONLY! helpppp pls((((((((
