I have written a short tutorial on how to enable scripting in Krita 4.0.0-beta1:
https://kritascripting.wordpress.com/2018/01/12/enabling-scripting-in-krita-4-0beta/

I have added some commits to make the Python Scripter a little easier to use.

If you're patient you can wait either for the next beta or for the next nightly build (Windows)
If you're impatient, the scripts do not need compiling so you can download them and apply them yourself to get their goodness (responsible adults only!)

I have written a short post on how to create a skeleton extension code to be loaded into Krita:
https://kritascripting.wordpress.com/2018/02/02/create-an-extension-skeleton/

It is similar to what is in the docs:

Cool! I love your involvement :-)

And, aside, I've got some more good news: I've managed to package python with our Linux appimages :-)

This would have me dancing the jitterbug, except that my right foot's got an infection and even shuffling is hard, but still!

I have created a script to make making scripts a little easier. It is called the Krita script starter and you can get it here:

That is really cool! Thanks for this. After we get some different scripts, we probably need to start a page in our documentation about some neat sample scripts to check out.

Weird, that renders as a blank page for me.

I wish I found this earlier when I had time to mess around with scripting. But your page sir is now bookmarked for when I find time again to be a code monkey.
