Hey guys,

At the moment I'm working on creating Texture Atlases in Krita. These are used to efficiently use textures on 3D objects within a game engine. In order to create one of these you need to work with multiple layers (sometimes over 50) and they need to be scaled and snapped to a grid. Krita can do this but I think there is a few simple things that could be done to help.

Default Transform Pivot: Currently the default pivot is always in the center of the transform and there is no option to change the default. It would be a real time saver if we could change this to one of the corners for all future transforms. This will really help people out when they have to repeat the same action time and again.

Transform Scale Bleeding: Maybe this is something I'm doing wrong but here is my workflow. I have set my grid to 256*256 on a canvas of 2048*2048. I scale using the Transform and it's pivot at the upper right hand corner and I snap to the grid. Snapping works as you'd expect but with the scaling I've found that it will bleed over the grid by one pixel. I thought it would be the scaling algorithm but I've used all the transform filters but they don't seem to help. (you can offset the grid by a pixel but it's a workaround)

The odd thing is that the bleeding over will happen on one side of the transform. I've noticed that if you are on the left side of the canvas, transforming and snapping to the grid will bleed one pixel to the right and vice-versa for the right hand side of the canvas. I'm mentioning here as maybe no one has noticed it before, I'm happy to use the workaround for the time being.

That's all, thanks for reading!

I agree. I also need simple and reliable tools for working with textures. Very lacking of binding the edge of the layer to the edge of the image. There is not enough setting of grid sizes in percent and saving these settings until the next session. It would be convenient to move the layer pixel by pixel using the arrows. And of course, it would be divine if kra files were supported by various programs (3d editors, engines, etc.), as happens with psd, so that we can use the adjustment layers.
