Hello there.
Color to Alpha filter seems to change image's color. (It's not supposed to, right?) I feel the change is quite significant on some specific colors. =Original. =After CtA. The whole image loses its saturation and hue, but if you look at the blue, it's especially noticeable. =Original. =After CtA. Color to Alpha in GIMP does not do this however. (Thought It's necessary to change the layer mode to 'legacy' after 2.10 update...) Hope it will be improved in the future. Color to Alpha is becoming important in my workflow since the Smart Coloring of G'Mic is now a very good feature to use. |

Try playing with the strength. What is going on is that the blue is having white being subtract from it (which is necessary for getting smoothness on lines), and you want to reduce that happening.

You mean 'Threshold', right? It seems to preserve the color at around 65 or below. Thanks! But still It's a little awkward. Gimp's CtA has the threshold slider to define the amount of subtraction as well, but it doesn't scrape color (at all) as I move the slider towards the more subtraction. So I don't have to sacrifice the color value in order to make the image 'more' transparent. |
