Hi,
I was wondering whether y'all would find it useful if we had a topic to link news about krita that's published elsewhere -- blogs, reviews and similar. What do you think? |

I read all the stuff on the KDE aggregate RSS feed. If there's anything that doesn't show up there I'd find it useful. How about everyone else?

Not really; I'm slightly confused as to why Krita has a separate forum and there is also a KOffice forum.

Interesting. Seems to me like in many ways Krita and Karbon are percieved differently than the other apps, which are all clearly office / productivity apps. (Yes, I know OOo has a draw program, too.) I liked the suggestion that someone made on your blog of a separate "KDE Creative Suite", which used Koffice libs, but had a creative imaging bent. To me, throwing Krita's forum in with the general Koffice, while technically correct, feels wrong. What do visual artists care about database access, project management, flowcharts and spreadsheets? As suggested on the blog (no it wasn't *my* comment), Kdenlive could be included and a KDE sound app if anyone came up with one.
That said, I'd rather devs spent time making Krita / Karbon great than setting up this kind of malarkey. |

@boud, I think you can create a topic for a particular link that's worth discussing.
Krita isn't really perceived as an office & productivity application, an artist will most likely install Krita without the rest of the KOffice suite, this is a forum strictly for artists. |

... the definition of artist isn't very strict anyway

In future you'll have to pass a drawing and colour theory exam to post.... |

I fail at colour theory @kubuntiac and you fail at quoting |

The success of the Krita forum so far shows that a seperate forum is much better. So far we had a lot more Krita posts than we ever had in the KOffice forum. |

I am a kde user always forced to use Gimp because Krita does not have a "clone tool". I urge you developers to add a clone tool in Krita like Gimp has got for years.
