I just seem to get an error pop up when I try to run wither the "stable" version or the -devel one... and I have a friend on Windows desperate to convert an image to CMYK.

What is your error message? It seems to be the bug, so probably report it with as much details as possible

There was a bug that prevents Krita from loading images on Windows. Already fixed in trunk and should be in the next release on Windows.

Hello!
I use Win XP sp3, and half-year ago I decide to try Krita because of it's capability to handle 16-bit per channel, CMYK and LAB. Unfortunately I faced with problem - it was impossible to load images. But slangkamp says, that this bug was fixed in development version, and I assume, that it could be solved in actual stable releses too. But the problem is that I'm unable to install modern version of Krita! I use KDE-windows installer (as I did in autumn), but, when I should check packages I need, I do not see Krita package. Was it excluded from windows version of KDE SC 4.4.0, or I should do something else to install Krita nowadays? |

Yes for some reason it is only available in KDE SC 4.3, not 4.4.0. And it is version 2.1.0 that is available, not sure if it countains the fix or not. Basically, the windows version need someone to take care of updating the package on a regular basis, I don't think it requires C++ knowledge, probably a bit of knowledge with scripts and how to compile stuff, best would be to ask the KDE windows project for help http://windows.kde.org/. And if there are bugs specific to windows (or not) they can be reported to http://bugs.kde.org . It might make them difficult to fix if they are specific, but I think many of them happen on linux too.

I have problems understanding this. Does SC 4.3 refer to stable 4.3.0 in the Windows installer? I cannot see Krita or KOffice in the list of applications when I select this release. I have not been able to find Krita in the releases I have checked. |

Try 4.4.1 - that has KOffice 2.1 (with Krita)
