Hey guys, I wrote a list of ideas I have for Krita, I'm sure you've heard them thousands of times but as I will not review the entire forum because my English is bad. I have also put together a list of bugs I've found, will report others if I have time.
I apologize if any of the bugs already are solved or implemented or any of the ideas I have not seen only as used. Excuse me if I do it the right way. Ideas Brush - The brush editor is ordered properly in english (Brush, Pincel) but in spanish is disordered (Color, Pincel) - Color like Gradient for brushs - The brush change if I use a mouse, tablet,... This should be an option - Hotkey to select different brush, like pixel brush, filter brush,... or buttons. - Gaussian and blur filter brush with 3x3 pixel effect by default (or other). Should also have good default values other brushes such as motion blur. Like pixelize. Layers - Filter gallery is caotic when insert a filter layer . Need basic form, not that when we click on each effect is going to transform the window. This gallery need two buttons, thumbnail button (show/hide thumbnails) and preview button (toggle on/off live preview off shows stock image)) http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/9906/filterlayer.jpg - The list of layers don't work good with a tablet. Gives many problems when you move a layer position, or to add one. If you click on the arrow to display the list of new layers and accidentally pressed the button does not let you add a layer of transparency, this does not happen to me with the mouse. Dockers - Workspace presets, for quickchange, like Photoshop. - Brush preset dock - Brush editor dock (or more option in tool dock), - Almost all options of brushes get into a well-ordered dock. - Histogram Dock - Dock in multiple columns, like GIMP 2.7, 3dsMax,... Select - Need Quick mask Text - Text AA option, the text edge is blurred Workspace - When I use shift-ctrl to rotate workspace it moves randommly in a straight line - Option to reset workspace position and rotation. - Need hotkey to rotate workspace without select to the hand tool. - Need hotkey to zoom workspace, like photoshop (ctrl+space+click) that work like brush size slider (shift+click) Bugs - Error saving jpg whitout EXIF - Ruler, perspective grid and normal grid's buttons don't work random - Brush's mirror don't work - Brush like smudge, filter,... don't work properly with alpha channel. If I blur a layer semi-transparent, I delete the alpha. - When I move the cursor outside Krita or title bar (I use Krita in GNOME with compiz) the brush change, when I move back the cursor to Krita the brush is back back as before. It's annoying. - If I split the workspace in two or more views and delete one view the program create a new zoom slider below, without use that don't work. Sometimes this makes krita Crash http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/1825 ... jo1011.jpg - Problems saving jpeg with accents. fotografía-> fotografÃa - Histogram problems, don't show some colors histograms and the RGB histogram is not real - The workspace is blocked while the program finishes paint some pincels. - Gaussian blur filter brush at 0x0 paint black - Noise filter in filter brush don't work adding a real noise. - Lens filter in filter brush paint black with default radius and angle (0, 0) and with other radius and angle 0. - Miximize and maximize channel in filter brush paint black. - ¿Unsharp mask do anything? My system GNOME 2.32.0 Compiz 0.86 Ubuntu 10.10 Krita 2.3.0 ATI 1950pro with free drivers wacom bamboo |

There are hotkeys for rotating the canvas (ctrl+[ and ctrl+]). The hotkey for reset is ctrl+'

I'm talking about a hotkey for rotate canvas with mouse. Example.
If you press the middle mouse button move the canvas If you press the middle mouse button+shift rotate the canvas Why no hotkeys for basic tools? |

Saludos y bienvenido!! |

It's funny. I was thinking nearly the exact same thing. The only difference was that I imagined Meta + drag. Either way would work though and help speed things up. |

A cartoonist posted on Twitter: "#opensource #Programmers: http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2011/10/ ... g-and.html TAKE A **** NOT GODDAMNIT" [I expanded the URL to make it easier to use]
I'm looking forward to the latest Krita release based on very limited (totally amateur) personal use, but I wondered whether this challenge might be something for the Krita developers to take on. If the problems mentioned are already present, it would be a great idea to publicize Krita to the cartoon drawing community.

Hm... Yes, interesting link. He's mostly using vector graphics for inking, it seems, but since he then exports to photoshop, I'm not sure why. Maybe because only vector graphics help him get the smooth lines he needs.
Now, this problem -- getting smoothed out lines for inking -- is indeed something where Manga Studio shines. And we have some bugs related to that: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=251374 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281267 And we definitely want to go there. The problem right now is that we're not yet sure how to achieve this smooth line for inking option. |

Actually we know how to achieve that, we just need somebody to work on it as it is not quick fix. Animtim wrote me some time ago about it:

Even the translation doesn't really help me... It would be great if we could get the author to make a patch for Krita -- and we wouldn't even make him keep it apart, we'd integrate it like a shot
