The Genesis is the next level of awesome!

But please, don't put a big gray border with Krita title and icon on it...

+1 More art on the splash == :)

That said, I wouldn't get rid of *all* branding myself, just make it a bit less prominent. I'd love to see (even a rough) mockup of what you'd propose Ivan, knowing that you have skills in this area.

I'd put branding as well, but not as prominent as it is in the template.

Unfortunately, I don't really have the time for artwork atm - plasma active 2 release is approaching fast :/

Ok, here's my latest version, it features:

  • Both a light and a dark version so we can match whatever artwork is chosen (would be awesome if we could automatically detect the desktop's color theme and match that, but that's probably getting overly ambitious).
  • The current logo being used by Krita (cleaned up a bit)
  • Blobs of paint on the canvas that are changed to match the colors in the artwork
  • A larger area to feature the artwork
  • Reworked font stuff. It now uses KDE's new Oxygen font for everything but the display font. The display font is now more script / painterly.

Dark version:

Light version:

If anyone wants them I can post the SVG's, too. Just ask. Thanks also, to Ramon and Ico-Dy for sharing the artwork used! :D

I like them both and in my humble opinion there is no real need of proposing a dark VS a light theme. For sure the one of Ramon will be used later. Good job on it Kubuntiac.

I sort of feel that light and dark should be reversed -- that the dark image needs a light border and the other way around :-). For the rest, I really like it, it's quite elegant -- and using KDE's new Oxygen font is great!

Oh -- and yes, it would be good to have the svg's, of course!

Sources are attached here

It's a tar.gz file, which contains:
* The Inkscape compressed .svgz (this has both light and dark templates and instructions on outputting them).
* The two fonts used (which need to be installed to render correctly)
