Today, the first beta release of Krita 2.4 was made public. Of course, everyone should test it and report bugs. But while testing... Why not work on a splash screen for Krita 2.4.

This is your chance to define the first impression of Krita! The winner will receive a Drawing Comics with Krita DVD + Comic pack for free -- and two runners up a Drawing Comics with Krita DVD.

The only restriction is that you should use Krita to paint your entry -- and use this template: http://david.revoy.free.fr/forums/krita/2011-08_splash-Krita-SVG-font.zip.

The Krita team will confer to choose the coolest splash from all the entries. Post your entries here, in this thread and achieve immortality by making the first official Krita Splash Screen.

The license for the artwork will have to be Debian compatible, i.e.

Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike (CC-BY-SA) v3.0

(http://wiki.debian.org/DFSGLicenses#Cre ... SA.29_v3.0)

Have fun, be creative and amazing!

I have a question: what is the exact size of splash screen in pixels?

PS: And... may be something like this will be useful?..

Friday is tagging for beta2 day... And beta2 should have a fresh, new splash screen! While I love all the work we've seen so far, I think I prefer "chikita" right now, because it's relatively light and bright and is very bold and readable. But I'm not going to decide on m own :-).

Definitely the following one for me, although having 1/3 of the splash without an image and the paintbrush logo still make me sad :(

Nice splash Ramon!

When is the deadline for the Krita splash-screen?
I'm painting a new piece... :)

We've got at least one more beta to go, and one release candidate. I expect that we'll actually release 2.4 by December, so there's at least one full month left for working on a splash.

Thank you very much for the info, Boudewijn!
Fortunately, I've plenty of time left...
I don't like to be in a hurry. ;D

Just a side thought...

I notice that all these splashes mention the creative commons license of the image they're using. This may or may not be a problem, but I could see people thinking that the CC license applied to the whole splash screen including the template and not just the image.
