I just put up a new msvc-based installer for krita 2.5.2. This version should behave properly when painting... And the theming works better, at the expense of the buttons looking like Windows 95 instead of Windows Vista.

I tested new windows version. Previously I was using krita_2.6_mingw64_14_08_2012 but it had some lag issues so I downgraded. Newest version has no lags, and it saves color palette UI into workspace - that is cool. Layer names and active layer are visible ok too now.
There is still 100% pressure at first dab stroke problem (probably due to my cheap Pentagram tablet), but now I can work around it with setting 100% pressure curve to 0.
There is one new problem i have. Often, but not always , Krita freezes cursor, after lifting my tablet pen up. Undo and painting or switching brush won't work them. To unfreeze I have to move my cursor by mouse, or just move cursor outside Krita window and then it works ok again. This happens around once in a minute.

I finally got my hardware updated and I installed Krita for Windows 2.5.9.0. Sadly enough that version is freezing every few strokes which is making it practically unusable. Hope you could take a look at it, I will be trying every new version you guys come up with. Please dont leave Krita for win ;)

Working on it, but...

a) I've got a nasty bronchitis
b) I want to do it right, so I'm trying to make a cleaner installer
c) I've got a build error...

No worries man - first take care of your health!
I also cant wait for new version on windows because last one like I said is freezing on me every few seconds. Linux proved very cool but I just got new machine and for many reasons for at least couple months I have to keep it "windows only" so... Yup cant wait man. And back again to sending some bugs there ;)

Krita for Windows was a necessity. It has definately given New meaning to painting and sketching for users wanting to run Krita on Portable Convertable tablet PCs. :)
I would like to hereby announce that Krita is not just an another sketching app.
It has many necessary and unique thing that others don't have as of now
,except that I want to see an improved Lasso tool in next versions which is a necessity and is a must.

Any news on a new windows build for 2013?

I am definately expecting release of 2.6 this week or within 15 days with singnificantly lesser bugs including lesser crashes(lesser Auto shutdown and freezing) ,with smoother strokes and improved texture Brush engines and probably with improved lasso and other selection tools as suggested by Boudwejn.

The 2.6 Catalog (Under construction) is already uploaded on:
http://www.valdyas.org/~boud/aboutkrita26.pdf

This is a indication that release of Krita 2.6 is just somewhere on few cards present here.
Who knows if 2.6 is released today tomorrow???I am excited, are you? :)

Man, I really have to say that. Please dont take it personally, I dont mean any harm and I am trying hardly to do not be rude. I just... I feel overwhelmed by the amount of posts you produce, often without any knowledge other then we all have. Dont get me wrong, its all good - forum is made to exchange thoughts and stuff, but you just shoot that posts with your personal ASSUMPTIONS, almost every thread is finished with your post... I am not trying to shut you down - I just like you to... do not feel obligated to answer EVERY SINGLE post here.
We all know krita 2.6 is coming. If there is anybody that really knows whats happening it is boudewijn and thats why question was directed to him. We are all excited but unless any of us have some real info I would say let boudewijn answer. If he is too busy to do so - lets wait. You obviously know nothing about release so please man... I am scared to go into forum since you arrived and every thread is full of your posts with such things as "I am definitely expecting". What? That means nothing - it says nothing about Krita, its about your expectations.. Please man...
Again, I dont want to play some internet sheriff and if you want to you obviously can still shoot posts. Can you please at least consider taking some reasonable measures in posting your private feelings and expectations in place of reliable information? I would appreciate it.

Thanks for Honnest Opinion.
However,I was answered in my thread by Boudewjn itself that Krita 2.6 would be mostly released somewhere in January.Obviously, this was tentative information, and since its already 28 th January, hence I thought that Krita would release within next 15 days or within few days.
It's not something that I assumed 100 percent myself.

What Nezumi is trying to say is...

1. Don't speak in a way that gives the impression that you have inside knowledge of the development process of Krita when you don't. If you've read Boudewijn saying "Krita for Windows will be released some time in February", then write "Boudewijn said that Krita for Windows will be released some time in February, and I'm very excited about it." However, if you Didn't read that anywhere, or if you're just making guesses, then don't say anything at all. It only confuses others.

2. You also often say things that are outright wrong, which further confuses other users. For example, the higher precision lasso tool is Not scheduled for Krita 2.6, but Krita 2.7. Deevad said so very clearly on page 5 in the tutorials thread. If you want it, you compile Krita 2.7 alpha yourself. There was also the time you suggested that Krita isn't made to be usable with a mouse, which is wrong.

Also, please, PLEASE stop asking and talking about the lasso tool nearly every thread. You've made several threads already which basically center around "please make a better lasso tool." You ask for it in News threads. You ask for it in tutorial threads. All in all you've asked for it in over 20 posts, and you even ask for it on completely unrelated posts on the personal blogs or Deviantart accounts of people who aren't even developers.

The worst thing is that I suspect that what you want is not increased precision, but increased line smoothness, which you can easily obtain by using the path selection tool instead of the lasso selection tool. I'm not sure though, so I won't comment further.

Thanks Valerievk,
Sorry for wrong info about the release dates, which I estimated.

Anybody would want complete stroke precision, which also includes precision in smoothness with respect to stylus movement. That problem is made invalid by me in the thread in my last comment, due to my own confussions.
What is the need to bring it here?

I mentioned about smoother strokes because the blogs available online indicate feature enabling smoother strokes in next version of Krita, not because I have any complain as of now with the smoothness of the strokes,

Further,I don't think that its good to talk of something else other than the topic.
