http://heap.kogmbh.net/boud/krita_2.6.8.6.msi

(it's git master as of yesterday; I'll also do a 2.6 package later on, with the fixes included.)

It doesn't work for me. When i want to create a file the application crash.

Hm... Thanks for testing. I don't have this problem, but I only tried to create a file from scratch. Did you reboot after installation? If not, could you try again with DebugView running (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96647.aspx) and pasting me the output?

Dont have a problem with creating new documents or saving. I can create few of them, all is working. Constant drawing bug also is fixed which is great. The only problem I ran into for now is docker for reference pictures - it doesnt work at all. Drop-down list to choose location isnt working, I cant change disk (I guess I previously mentioned it already) but what is worse now - even if I go to some place on main disk that contains pictures - they are not shown at all. That may not be show stopper but reference docker is one of my favorite features of Krita ;)
In general dockers seems to have some problems - when I detach them from right side and make them float the name of the docker disappears or is distorted and reduced to one pixel line. When I try to rearrange and move dockers attached on the right side all sort of different distortions is happening. I finally manage to sort them out but sometimes descriptions go over icons and so on.

Some bugs evidently were wiped out, I guess some new (reference docker was working perfectly before) were introduced.

It is going into good direction though.

Weird... Thanks for your input, but the reference docker did get zero commits! I'll have to investigate :-)

I just discovered that reference is working only with PNG files. It cant see any other format (well, I didnt found any other that could be recognized - surely jpgs are not recognized). That may help I hope.

Yes, I reboot my computer after the uninstall and after the installation. I have this same problem with krita 2.6, I will try it later again because a lose a lot of time uninstalling and intalling krita again, or there is a way to install two versions of krita?

How about testing with DebugView running as suggested? I am sure they could use some data that maybe may not say much to us (at least to me :D).

_________

On another note - I just wonder if that bug that was in Krita for Windows (constant drawing even if stylus off the tablet) isnt the same that windows version of MyPaint is trying to solve with no success? I don't know how it looks on programmist side but behavior is similar. You guys solved it - maybe it would help MyPaint too?

After the installation, krita manage to open but its still as slow just like when i installed 2.4. after i closed, the same problem returns when you make a new document it crashes. im still wondering if there is going to be a stable version of 2.6 for win 8.

Well, I'm doing my best to figure out how to make one. I haven't tested this installer on my win8 laptop yet -- but there really is very little difference between win8 and win7, as far as desktop apps are concerned. As for the performance, on a supported cpu (i.e., not an atom), painting should be a lot faster than with 2.4 or 2.5.

It's not possible to install two versions of krita next to each other, I'm afraid.

Hm, thanks... That's similar to a problem we've seen on Dmitry's laptop. He was compiling with a dev env I copied from the same env that I made these packages with. There must be something wrong with it, but I cannot figure out what.

I went on and boot on windows XP to try.

Krita 2.6.8.5
Install, ok.
Starting up, one mistake I've never seen before about visualstudio libraries. Perhaps it is related with something else.
Once the main windows showed up it complaint: "Unable to save bookmarks in (Dunno correct paths, mine are in spanish) > c:\Documents and settings\[User]\Program files\.kde\share\apps\kfileplaces\bookmarks.xml > Error during rename...
In the start screen Navigating files was ok.
Opened a custom document
Wacom support ok: A bit slow, I felt a bit like photoshop (photoshop for painting is slow on my pc)
but...
While navigating menus I triggered an exception, just like that, viewing options, nothing was pressed.
-->kirta.exe PID:3064 Signal: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION(0xc0000005)
Unfortunately i'm not running a debug version so I have no more details on that.

=(

I am not trying to say it is your fault but lets be honest here - XP is an ancient piece of software that only very few will keep using for absolutely no reason at this point.
