Which version are you using exactly? The psd saving bugs should be fixed in the latest version, and the crash on saving kra files should be gone as well...
1500x1500 px brushes probably really are a bit too much, but we've got some speedups in that area as well, that probably aren't in the latest build yet. I haven't seen issues with tiff saving yet: could you make a bug report about it? Thanks for testing, in any case! |

I'm using 2.7.8.8. Is there a way to confirm within the app though, just on the off chance that I ran the wrong installer?
The big brushes are useable (albeit slow), but the main issue is the crashing. These kinds of brushes are good for laying down random-looking textures over a large area. Maybe there's a more efficient alternate way to do it...? I'll try to do some confirmation tests and get onto a bug report once the immediacy of this job is out of the way. |

No, right now there's no way I've found to bake in the version number
But I've got a Win64 installer now: http://heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/krita_2.7.8.9_64.msi ready for testing . I've tested it on a separate win8 ultrabook and it started and could save stuff... It doesn't have the image docker -- somehow, on win64 loading a jpeg in a thread causes an immediate crash -- but also doesn't have the duplicate-layer-is-locked bug... (edit: fixed link)

Good news! But the link is broken.
@Chris: I had several issues with currupted files both in Windows version and in Linux using Krita Lime. Most of the time it was psd files. A curious issue I had last time when I saved two files as psd, everything went fine. Then I exported the images in low res jpg, Krita crashed, but the files were saved normally. Yesterday I tried to open the psd images and they were corrupted! It seems that there are issues with psd in Krita, and also many crashes are related with opengl. I am not sure though how this happened in already saved files. |

I just tried out the 64-bit build on my Win7 64-bit laptop.
My observations: - It started in no time! That was amazing! - The brush outline option is visible outside of OpenGL now. That had still been broken for me last I checked. - Anti-aliasing is sadly still splotchy, I'll probably go back to 2.7.8.7 for any actual painting. - The brush weighted smoothing and dynamic movement tool both seem to have broke. They'll make a dot where I start the line and nothing beyond that. I'm seriously loving that start-up speed, though. Absolutely fantastic! |

Pretty much same here. Lines are jagged, brush weighted smoothing seams to be broken. Additionally when trilinear filtering is on when doing really fast movements Krita cant keep with a speed (i5 3330, 16 GB ram), breaking line. In bilinear filtering has no problems even with extra fast strokes.
As PixlelSprite said - BLAZING FAST! Very good direction, cant wait for next build! |

Hm... That sounds like Dmitry optimized painting maybe a bit _too_ much...

I never thought something can be too optimized But clearly I was wrong

We've found the culprit (or rather, Timothee Giet did) and I'm building new packages now... Those will also include a new spacing option for brushes to have fun with.

Ow Brother, You are spoiling me Cant wait.
On a side note - there is massive bug in Photoshop - both CS6 and latest CC that involves spacing between letters acting funny and sometimes makes it impossible to achieve wanted look. One would think "hey, this is commercial app, somebody should fixed it ASAP. Nope, nothing like that. They admit there is a bug and thats about it. You guys on the other side are acting INCREDIBLY fast! Thank you for that. I am talking about Krita left and right because honestly - you are making it best whats out there for painting. And not just because its free. Simply the best. |

You can put me right beside Nezumi in feeling spoiled. This is fantastic!
I'm not sure what the new brush spacing option is so I can't report on that. Is it 'Isotropic Spacing'? I don't play with brush settings enough to notice anything that's changed. Also, I don't know if it's part of what Timothee Giet found but weighted smoothing and the dynamic tool remain unusable. The preview/scribble pad in the brush settings seems to have the same problem. Is that possibly connected? Regardless, Krita is ever increasingly amazing! Thank you, Krita developers! |

Yes, that's the new spacing option. I'm not sure yet what causes the problem with weighted smoothing -- probably, Dmitry will have to get his windows build system up and running to figure it out. The older version of weighted smoothing I did around Christmas didn't have problems on Windows, but, well, it wasn't smooth enough.
Right now, I'm trying to figure out why my new Lenovo Helix' Wacom pen isn't doing anything inside Krita -- and why on reboot, it can only paint in the top-left 255 pixel square... |

Just to confirm - weighted smoothing and the dynamic tool remain unusable. No more jagged lines though, better on trilinear filtering - I would have to go ridiculously fast to make a problem out of that. Great job man! Good luck in fixing Lenovo problem!
