I noticed few bugs fixed, sadly weighted smoothing still isnt working for me... I cannot see "KritaTabletTester" in bin directory either (installed 64bit version).
Thank you so much for next portion of fixes! Just this weighted smoothing... ;)

Tried the latest version of krita (64 bit) version and still problems with stylus. (I'm on tablet PC. Samsung series 7 slate)
It works fine as long as I don't lift stylus from screen and then I have to wait a bit before I can draw next line.
Also Krita Sketch doesn't understand my stylus at all :P
So since I felt adventurous I decided to try Ubuntu Studio live from usb stick and ran Krita.
Pressure and everything worked out of the box to my big suprise. Stylus settings are a bit crude on linux so I can't really accurately adjust lvl's.
Also there's no artdock that I know of on ubuntu and onboard virtual keyboard would hog half of the screen.
My point is that if anyone else is having problems with windows version then running ubuntu studio directly from usb stick and using krita might be a solution for you until the windows version is fixed.

It may be helpful but if we start to run Krita under Linux - Windows version will never get fixed ;) And its really good already, needs some polishing here and there.
BTW, I dont experience any of the problems described by you but I am on regular desktop pc not a tablet.

I've got a similar experience on my Lenovo Helix (verdict: don't buy, it's a lemon). Even after installing the wintab drivers weirdnesses keep occurring.

In any case, I've updated the packages again, this time _with_ the KritaTabletTester app. Also, this version fixes some opengl issues on intel gpu's where grids and assistants would flicker or become invisible.

Still having issues on brush preview strokes in Krita 64 bit. Also Krita doesn't natively open .kpp files on windows. You can drag and drop files or "open with" but you can't open them via the krita file menu. Not a huge deal but it would be nice so we can edit the paintopresets faster/easier since the preview stroke window is broken. ;-)

I can almost hear boudewijn screaming "I KNOW!!!" but just have to mention it - weighted smoothing... still... ;)

You have changed name of catalog now for some reason - added "x" before 64 so probably that messed a bit my perfectly categorized brushes. Names of presets are still there but brushes are not assigned to presets anymore.

Apart of that - doing good I guess.

I didn't tested new version yet, but about stroke preview - it would be cool to have something like in PS where there is curvy line drawn with varying pressure, that is updated every time user changes brush option. Seems faster than - change brush parameter - paint test stroke - change brush parameter - paint test stroke - etc.

I changed the name because I now also have a regular way to create x86 builds. All builds are now with MSVC 2012, by the way, so I cannot support Windows XP anymore. If Windows XP support is needed, someone else will have to make builds for that.

Well, we had that wriggle some time ago, but I never really liked it. For a lot of brushes it didn't give a lot of information -- since it only tracked pressure and we've got so much more than that.

installed the uc-logic driver for my monoprice tablet on windows 8 and now it works great. Couldn't get my tablet to work in Krita on linux, but it worked in everything else.

Ah, that's cool to know! That means that uc-logic supports that Wintab api, too, which is also used by Wacom, and that's what Qt supports. On linux, you'd still have to patch Qt to support evdev-based tablets.

Hm... What graphics card/driver do you have? I've only, as usual, tested on Intel :-)

Can anyone get the text tool working? I get a lot of hard drive activity with nothing happening for minutes on end, with the cursor getting slower and slower until the whole system hangs and has to be restarted.

Krita 2.7.8.13, Windows 8.

I'm also using Krita 2.7.8.13 64-bit on a Windows 8 machine and I had the same difficulty as Chris Jones when I tried the text tool. My laptop managed to pull itself out of the loop after a while but the hard drive activity wasn't going down so I restarted anyway.
