Not that I know of, however...there is someone who is being paid to port all the Calligra apps (including Krita) to Windows. A long time ago I believe that I heard that the goal was for December, however I talked to him recently, and he said that he had to finish the productivity apps first (Spread, Words etc). Given how much code is shared between Calligra apps though, I would imagine that later apps may happen faster...

I also would be interested in Windows edition. My issue is that I would need a portable addition. It seems like a portable Qt framework and portable Windows would be out of the question though?
I see that there are a few Qt based portable apps like Skype. I would think a portable windows edition would really help the uptake of these apps. My corporate computers are so locked down it is my only way of using any program for work. |

Well, the windows installer we're doing for calligra actually produces a pretty portable package. You can move it as a zip file from computer to computer -- the only issue is that if you move it to a weird location, you need to edit one batch file.

Interesting, do you guys have some builds that can work? I could help beta testing, I'm starting to use krita for my 3d hand painted textures, I'm currently using BLender with gimp and photoshop, but using krita can make my workflow even a lot better, but the problem is that I have to use windows because other softwares that I often use. Plx let me know to help you guys beta testing.

I can't wait. When Krita is ready...goodbye Painter!^^ Is there a chance to get "a zip file" of the current krita state to do a lot of beta testing for you?

Probably a good idea, actually. There have been troubles with tablet drivers in a lot of linux->windows ports lately.

I've got a windows build machine now... But we have a lot of things in our code that break Visual Studio. But working on it!

I don't know... I managed to compile all of Krita on windows this weekend, but in the process I broke Krita, so now I have to fix some stuff. When that's done, I need to figure a way to add it to the calligra installer stuart is working on.

Oh, and please be aware that any release of Krita on windows will be highly experimental. We simply don't have much experience on Windows, so there will be new bugs. And it won't support HDR colorspaces, since for that we need dependencies that haven't been ported to Windows yet.

Really nice boudewijn, please, let us know when this is going to be out, I can't wait, I don't have linux in my desktop and work, so, have been a long time I don't use my laptop with linux, I really miss Krita . There's a lot of students and professors in my university that are really interested in Krita, but they all use windows and mac, I only have like 2 friends who use linux and use gimp in their new Indie game company that they are starting to create, I want to put Krita in front of them, is really good, but again, because of video game development we have to use windows for other 3d stuff and compositing softwares that have GPU integrated, GPU is the futures. I'm very happy to see that this Krita project is growing so fast, congratulations to all of you developers.

When it happens, I'd be surprised if I didn't read it here on the forums fist, but the calligra page has been updated recently with a link to the team that's doing the win build.
