How to start Krita

Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:46 am
Hi
I've just downloaded Krita (KOffice 1.6.3) but I have no idea how to start Krita. I extracted the files that were compressed in Peazip. But there's nothing that says Krita application. Sorry for the newbie question but how do I open Krita?
Thanks :o

Hi,

Krita 1.6.3 is extremely old. I'm not sure where you got that version from, but it's best to just delete it. If you are on Windows, you can get a very experimental installer of the current beta version 2.4 from http://www.kogmbh.com/download.html. Krita is part of the Calligra Suite, so just download that.

On Linux, please check the instructions at http://krita.org/download-krita to install a new version.

Thanks. I didn't know that. I just put 'download krita' in to google and softpedia came up with a link. I'll try the new link; I hope it's more self-explanatory to launch!
Best wishes

Ah, softpedia. It's impossible to get them to update their information, I'm afraid.
