I can't seem to find or activate mirror mode. I've added mirror, mirror vertical & mirror horizontal to the tool bar but they only flip the whole image. When I look at videos on this there's a set of icons that look like the ones I added but they seem to work different that what I'm getting.
I'm running Debian Sid & installed from packages for that.

The buttons for mirrored painting are already on the toolbar. If you have a small screen, you might have to press the toolbar extension button first to see them.

I'm at 1680x1050 & I don't see those buttons. Or any pull down that refers to them.

Go to Settings->Configure Toolbar... and then click Defaults. That should bring the buttons back.

ok moved the rc file out of that folder & started Krita again. Same thing.

I see the problem. You are using an old version of Krita. The buttons are only available since 2.4.

I added the repositories suggested & it showed the same version....I'll look again

I can't find a 2.4 version for debian. Where can I download the source so I can build it my self?

I'm hoping I can do checkinstall on the build, if it goes well, since I want my package manager to be involved. Or dh_make if I can remember how to do that...

if you follow the instructions exactly, all of krita will be contained in a directory in your $HOME, easy to remove and so localized nothing on your system will be touched.
