By the way, I don't think that forbid cropping image with hidden or locked layer was good idea. It is OK as just appearing a warning message, but not like now, as a hard blocking.

Doesn't really make sense for me why you should be able to crop a locked layer. I mean what is lock worth if you can't be sure that it's not changed?

I apologize if my previous explanation was somewhat chaotic. For example, I have many layers, some of them are hidden/locked (for some purposes...). And now, if I decide to crop the image, I must: 1) unhide/unlock all layers (and remember, which of them was hidden/locked), 2) crop the image, 3) hide/lock them back. PS: In other words, I think, we must not be able to paint on the locked layer, to transform it and to change it's properties (and may be cropping individual layer if locked). But excluding cropping entire image. |
