Now I have the working (I think so) Krita on Kubuntu 12.04. Krita version is v2.3.91-490-g6be2355.
But I have find two strange things: 1. When I zooming with [ctrl]+[+] [ctrl]+[-], zoom factor set to some "inconvenient" percentages as 52, 59, 68, 77, 88%. 2. In Krita Display Settings, the "Enable OpenGL shaders" is grayed. But, in the previous this option was available for me. I have GeForce GTX 470, driver version 295.40. |

For the opengl issue, maybe that's because you missed some development packages, like glew.

There are two versions available: libglew1.5 and libglew1.6.
The libglew1.5 was pre-installed on my system. So, which one I have to choose? Edit: I chooses 1.6, let's see what will happen... |

Yes! The shaders is enabled now.
Thank you, Boudewijn. |

I have compiled the latest git version. So, now even with mouse will, zoom factors are "inconvenient" (for me, at least). (Before, it was only with keyboard shortcuts [ctrl]+[+] and [ctrl]+[-], but with mouse will zoom was something as 50% ... 100% ... 200% ...). Is it possible to reverse to the old behavior? |

I noticed the same AleXey. The mouse wheel step to zoom is also bigger than on keyboard. I also would prefer a list like this, mapped on the mouse -and- on the keyboard ( note : a zoom step ' fit to the viewport' can be insered dynamically between those steps' )
If you agree, I will report it as a wish on the bug tracker. |

Now (latest commit 1e18e058132d520a90ea48b84631871f47bbe602) I found that zoom with numeric "+" & "-" has different step and behavior than "ctrl +" & "ctrl -" on regular (character) keyboard.
And these numeric + - keys (without ctrl) zooms with step of 10% begins from 12%. So if I start from, say, 50% and not go lower then 20%, I will always have zoom factors multiples of ten. May be it was always like that and I just didn't notice. |

Yeah... We're working hard on this stuff! The guy who's hacking on it will be out of town tomorrow to buy floor coverings for his new house, but I'll discuss it with him on Tuesday!

I found that when I turn OFF "Zoom with mouse wheel", the mouse wheel zoom is not only still working, but start zooming like numeric + - keys, ie, with step of 10% (or 20% after 200). IMHO, it is the some "double effect" when the toggle ON (zooming is happen two times consequentially).
So, I turn it off and I'm happy zooming with mouse wheel. Tested with git commit 051469d07a266392b2fa0f81253d43d3f2bf3c8f |

Hm, this sounds like it should go into bugzilla.

Thanks for the tips I also prefer it like this as a workaround for now. |

I am glad if my little observation can help. David, if you want, please include it to Bug 302775. |
