After exploring a bit I noticed that the duplicate layer command is only present in the layer stack, and I can't find it in the shortcut commands.

Not in 2.4; adding a shortcut meant adding a string, but the shortcut is present in git master. It is ctrl+j in master.

No, macro recording doesn't work for a number of things ,layer manipulation is one of them. You can insert a new paint layer with the Insert key.

I resolved most of the dependencies problem but I get this message as I try to patch the qt 4.8.1
error: src/gui/text/qtextlayout.cpp: No such file or directory sorry for posting it here |

I think you need to apply the patch with the -p1 parameter:
patch -p1 << bla.patch -p strips one part of the path. Patches made by git have a/ and /b as first entries in the path and if those aren't stripped, patch cannot find the files to patch. |

For now it didn't work.
I'm planning on making a clean ubuntu install once 12.04 LTS is released on 26 I think. So I'll come back on my steps and hope to do a better work. As for now my system is a bit messed up thank you |

insert key seem no work in my machine (ubuntu 11.10) what is the acton in the configure shortcut? (my insert key is default for insert point) ctrl + j is not so easy to use because it need to select opaque first (is that possible to combine this two or if selection is yes return is no select opaque slection to new layer) i wish the record can be more powerful and is there are some script for such jobs also shortcut for blending mode personally i want to shortcut everything |

Seems like it's ok
It builds but calligra-inst folder is empty submitting calligra-builder.log http://www.pasteall.org/31290 It refers many times to compiler.sh saying things like: Let's go!!!! ./compiler.sh: 282: cd: can't cd to ../calligra-inst/bin |

That's... very odd.
Normally between "-- Build files have been written to: /home/canaldin/calligra/calligra-build" and "setting environment variables for current session." you'd see a whole heap of lines telling you it was building with a percentage readout of how far it was done. They look something like: "[ 45%] Building CXX object filters/libmsooxml/CMakeFiles/msooxml.dir/MsooXmlReader.o Building CXX object krita/image/CMakeFiles/kritaimage.dir/tiles3/kis_rect_iterator.o [ 45%] Building CXX object filters/libmsooxml/CMakeFiles/msooxml.dir/MsooXmlCommonReader.o [ 46%] Building CXX object krita/image/CMakeFiles/kritaimage.dir/tiles3/kis_tiled_random_accessor.o" (but with a lot more of them going from 0% to 100%). Do you see these when you run the script? Do the following folders exist? Are their permissions open to your user? /home/canaldin/calligra/calligra-build /home/canaldin/calligra/calligra-src /home/canaldin/calligra/calligra-inst /home/canaldin/calligra/calligra-inst/bin |

Hi Kubuntiac. Here is a screenshot of mycaligra folder.
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/31087 and after the configuration it does not build anything, it just says you have built/previously built the following software. |

Ok, but that image doesn't show if the folder calligra-inst/bin exists, which is the folder that was referred to in the error message you posted. Can you tell me if that folder exists and if so what the user and permissions for it are?
