Hi,
It's about the "New View" command from the "View" Menu, that creates a new viewport.
As I remember, the old behavior was that the existing viewport separated with vertical line (or something like that) and we have two views of the same picture, side by side. Now, this command just create a new Krita window, that, as for me, is inconvenient.

Is it possible to hope that the old behavior will return?

It might... But the code for splitting views was extremely buggy, so buggy I'm surprised it even ever worked for you . End of this month I'm going to have a hack session with the Words maintainer at my place in Deventer to see whether we can straighten out the windows/view/document confusion in our code, and that might help in this area as well!

But... It's not so bad, say more, it's may be even good!
With the new behavior, I can work like in two full functional Kritas, even using different brushes & colors.
