OK solved.
I reinstalled again Krita. BUT ALSO THE USER FILE Krita. And now it works. I think Krita 2.5 does not like floating fenêrtes interface. their behavior is strange. I rework with Windows because I have too much problem with my cintiq in Ubuntu. that's a pity. Goodbye, Kargall |

User files are a folder ( usually named 'krita' ) placed in your username folder. It can looks like : C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\.kde\share\apps\krita C:\Users\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\.kde\share\apps\krita ( I don't own windows ) Those files keep user brush , user colors, and configuration of User interface. |

On windows, it's probably here:
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\.krita |

Hello,
I'm new to Krita and have been experiencing the same problem. I tried deleting the user file as suggested and first time I opened Krita after the reinstall it worked. However, after I close Krita and try to reopen the issue is back and the program crashes. I have tried deleting the user file, uninstalling and reinstalling three times now and the issue continues to reappear. The executable that appears on the crash handler is Krita PID: 4788 Signal: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I really enjoyed the program the little time I was able to use it but i've now spent more time attempting to get it to work than painting. Thanks |

Try deleting the krita folder "C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\.krita", you have to enable the folder option "view hidden folders" because you won't see it |

I have tried deleting the user file. The first time I open Krita after deleting the user file and reinstalling the program I am able to open and run it alright. However after I close Krita and try to open again it reverts to crashing and I get the same error that I stated above.
