My opacity, size and flow sliders at the top of the screen are very slow and difficult to use. When I open edit brush settings the sliders there are very smooth. Is this just my computer?
I understand little about the topic. I have windows 7 gts 250 nividea AMD 8 core Thank you |

I will have to test. There are differences between Linux and Windows versions of Krita that are, to me, as a developer who's worked on Krita for nearly ten years, quite incredible

Hey there,
I can confirm this issue on x64 Linux with Krita 2.5.2. Scaling the brush is quite laggy using shift+LMB, and even more so when using the slider. Clicking and dragging the slider has a noticeable delay between moving the mouse and updating the bar. The effect is worse for large brush sizes. The opacity slider also has this delay. Thanks for your investigation! ![]() Greetings, Sven
I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

OOps sorry it installed forgot to restart computer. It did not work.
I tried to run install for a earlier version of windows it stops during install saying I need administrator permission. I want back to properties but run as administrator is grayed out . FYI another person at Blenderartist is having the same problem. I really like this program Thank you |

Where can i find 2.4? I do not see it anywhere. Its says download calligra ? OR ..I cant find this "There are several installers that contain just Krita.
Development version, 64 bits MingW" . I can only find one installer and it is win 2.5 . I have been looking for some time now. |

The last 2.4 installer of Krita is http://heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/krita_2.4.7.6.msi. I think that the latest 2.5 installer is better, though. I know about the brush scaling problem on Windows, but I don't know what's causing it

I find the newest release of krita to be slow too. Imo the best windows release was the one posted by boudewijn above - much faster but it had some small bugs. But still much faster.

Unfortunately the brush resizing issue got noticeably worse with latest git versions I tried to get rid of this problem by compiling from sources once a week for the past one and a half month or so but this problem persists. While resizing the standard round brushes (and their variants) is bearable even if laggy, resizing the smear type brushes brings my otherwise fast system to such a stutter that I have to stop doing anything until it finishes. There is something seriously wrong with this.
I already tried it with and without nvidia drivers on different KDE Versions with different settings (with and without V Sync and other things) .... nothing seems to affect this in any positive way. I had similar problem with the official releases of Krita (and written in detail about this on this forum)but they were not as severe. I wish I could help somehow.... Forgot to mention - I'm on Linux (Chakra Linux) with latest updates and latest Nvidia drivers. (have two separate systems with nouveau and nvidia drivers and its the same on both.) I thought I should also point out that It's really remarkable that while having these problems painting itself is really fast even on huge 8k 10k images with layers and the rest.
