Hi, krita is wonderful, but i miss one feature:
Is there any way to select layer (make it active) by clicking on canvas? (e.g., with Shift key) It might be very useful when working with many layers, for instance, making collage or composition. |

We don't have that yet, although someone else also asked about it recently. It needs a bit of thinking (for instance, shift-click is already occupied...), but if you add an item to bugs.kde.org about it, we'll not forget about it.

Shift occupied with paint tools, layer selection can be implemented for move tool only.
ok, thanks! |

It's true that when I'm using Inkscape, I like moving stuff around a lot...
How about making this an option in the move tool instead? (edit: whoops, beat me to it ![]() - Ctrl+Click with move tool to select a layer - Ctrl+mousewheel to toggle through stack? - with Ctrl, you only select, so you don't have to actually move anything, and can simply switch back to the brush tool. Although it'd be nice to access such selections directly from brush tools, I admit like the brush resize and color picker functions more. Alternatively, it'd work more like Inkscape: click once to select, Then click-drag to move. Then again, nah, that gets annoying when there's stuff blocking your view, so you end up selecting something else by accident instead of moving. |
