Need help with krita 2.6 problems

Wed Feb 27, 2013 3:03 pm
Hi,
I encountered 3 problem while starting with Krita 2.6.
1. Applying or modifying any filter from the dropdown menu uses too much of cpu that it gets slow. CPU: Core2Duo. Ubuntu 12.04 Unity. Few times krita went unresponisve during modifying the filters.
2. Files>new> imports the last screenshot that the 'shutter' app took. It's so weird, I cant even guess the connection between Shutter and Krita. I'm told that it might be a copy cache...but I dont know how to fix it.
3. Edit>resources>... gives a straight floating line instead of an option or drop down menu. Like drop shadow is applied to a straight line. Same with tools>tutorials>...
I would show a screenshot for better understanding but I see no option to upload one.

Any Idea how to fix these?

1. the is a checkbox in the bottom left of the filter dialog which you can uncheck to turn off the preview.
2. there is checkbox in the bottom left to use the contents of the clipboard
3. that's a known issue, will be fixed in the next version

Problem 1 and 2 solved. Thanks a lot.

There are two more. everytime, i close krita, i get notification about some multimedia audio player...and sometimes get a window that says.. "KDE thinks these internal hardwares (output intel HDA....) are removed or not working - manage devices, forget permanently"

I chose forget permanently. but what are those and why kirta needs to check the audio devices? ???

Krita has nothing to do with that, not sound is used. I guess the system just checked it at that point.

These messages likely originated from Phonon, the KDE Multimedia interface (which uses GStreamer or VLC depending on your Multimedia backend selection in System Settings).

If they do not recur, and your system audio is operating as you expect it to, you can safely ignore that message. Usually one should not see that dialog however unless the computer has had it's audio hardware altered however.
