Hi guys, new Krita user here (new to painting too). Is it possible to change the default behavior of CTRL button when using brush tool? right now the CTRL is assigned to colour selector. I would prefer to change the colour selector to ALT because more often i use CTRL+Z (and other CTRL+...) and a lot of times i keep sampling colours instead of undo. Amazing program (minus the crashes! - though its most likely peculiar to the windows platform).

No, I'm afraid that's not possible. We really want to make all the canvas-related shortcuts configurable, but because those fall outside the normal action system provided by Qt we have to do that ourselves, and we haven't had time yet.
Which Windows version are you using, and are any of those crashes reproducible? |

Windows XP. Unfortunately the crashes aren't predictable so I havn't been able to reproduce them. Next time I'll try to make a note and submit the errors in the bug tracker. If you are interested in some non-crash but equally problematic behavior...
1. pressure sensitivity stops working sometimes (Wacom Bamboo pen+touch), when that happens the stroke keeps drawing with full opacity+flow even if the pen tip is no longer touching the tablet. I have to click the mouse once to reset that. 2. Vector stroke colour changes. Draw a rectangle in a vector layer, and select it using the 'shape handling' tool, change the stroke colour (in the stroke and fill docker) and change its thickness in the tool options:- the stroke changes to blue everytime I change the thickness! Ofcourse you can change the thickness first to avoid the doubling-up, so it's not a major thing. 3. This might might just be ignorance on my part but when I 'Duplicate a layer or mask', I cant seem to draw, move or do anything to it, even disables the move and delete icons in the layer stack. When i try to draw a shape 'Group not editable' pops up (not really helpful unless if it were to say why!) Any help regarding these issues will be greatly appreciated. |

Yes, it's a known problem that duplicate layer is broken on Windows. The vector stroke problem is new to me, I guess it's an uninitialized color variable somewhere. Can you report it on bugs.kde.org? The wacom problem is vexing, but probably very hard to solve. We already have a lot of workarounds for windows wacom support bugs in Qt, and it might be a matter of setting a timer to a longer or shorter value, but it's very hard to test.
